T6.1 new order delays

Yeah notify your insurance company about conversion including all extras including alloy wheels
body modifications pop top and what it is now worth I did this with A PLAN and it is now covered for like for like replacement of a value of 55 thousand as for DVLA would not bother to much hassle

Theyve gone and bombed the wiring loom factory in Ukraine so they've put a halt to any further production of them too! haha

Can any body advice what happens with reg documents once you have converted to camper van do dvla do any think or do you just tell insurance company it’s worth once converted cheers
It might be classed as a van with windows. They don't change it to motorcaravan these days.

Definitely get contact your insurance with list of modifications & value.

No a local conversion company told me when I went in to order a poptop at the start of April, said he’d heard they’d stopped production so he couldn’t order any new vans

As per @BognorMotors's comment, I'd heard that VW had long since sourced wiring looms - albeit at reduced volumes - from elsewhere (same supplier, but from factories outside Ukraine). Besides which, I can't imagine the Ukraine factory would have still been producing wiring looms for VW whilst war raged all around them - all of Ukraine's industrial and engineering capacity will be focused on their war effort right now.

Kombi is being delivered next Wednesday. Feeling elated, worried, devastated then elated again.. Emotions are running wild. Other than a house, I've never bought anything this expensive (even more expensive than planned)!

I'm curious about the extended factory warranty. Has anyone here added it?

I want to do so, as I'm planning on keeping the van and it's added peace of mind. It's £480 for the extra 2 years and up to 80,000 miles.

They have a servicing deal too which is 2 services for £178. I assume that's good value?

I think I've read on here that a major service at the main dealers is north of £500, so service plan certainly seems worthwhile.

EDIT: Apologies, that should read "...north of £300..."
