T6.1 new order delays

Thats great news, so that's build in the next week or so, and at the dealer before the end of February, providing no more delays
Hopefully although the dealer suggested today that delivery would be mid to late March...

Plus I am now also a “t6 pro” without owning a t6 (although I probably own enough parts to start building my own) :D

That was my line.......however I’m now striving for “Guru” before the bugger rocks up! (i hope that the status isn’t subject to a test or I’ll be heading back to “clueless gypsy” status!)

I know, that’s why I said also! I too immediately wondered “how do you get to Guru status?”

Any one had a T6.1 delivered this month ?
Any hidden import charges ? The situation with import VAT is causing problems in all sorts of industries. Dealer tells me its price protected, so don't worry.
I should add, i will be paying the UK vat on it

My 150 DSG SWB being built this week...ordered Sept

There is no duty to pay on goods that are manufactured in Europe and then imported to the UK. That was the brexit deal.

I’ve been told there will be no additional tax to pay on mine when it does materialise.

Even pre Brexit deal in Dec, VW confirmed anything ordered before 2nd Dec (think that was the date from memory) and delivered by end March wouldn’t be impacted by any Brexit related tax.

With a deal now in place, there should be no additional tax at all even for those ordered after Dec as I understand it - albeit I know the new red tape is causing issues for some imports and some additional costs, but not taxes. That said, my intermediary suggested that VW were looking to cut discounts on new orders now via intermediaries and fleet buyers, and instead focus on better offers at main dealers. Not sure how accurate that is as AutoEbid still seem to be indicating around 18% discounts on their website.

Out of interest, what colour and spec is your 150DSG? If it’s a white Highline PV, it may bode well for mine which was also ordered in Sept.

Its these new Vat rules that worry me. No one understands them, you just get a bill later on.
If the vehicle has a certain amount of parts manufactured outside the EU there is more vat to pay as well. Ford have increased prices for certain models with engines built outside the EU i see

My order is a 150 DSG swb Highline pure grey Kombi with a few options on it

wow some interesting comments on this page, especially ones relating to delivery in March and import duties. My van was due this month but as you may have read not likely to be built til mid April,,,certainly post March delivery,,, bloody hope I dont get an import bill. Anyway I am not importing it the dealer is!

The other is parts outside the EU, is there anything that is manufactured worldwide that hasnt got some or all Chinese components?

I've just had a call off the third party who are buying the van for me and they know nothing.... VW have said that they need to ring back next week and they may have some information then but they are having a nightmare in the factory. Production line staff testing positive means the guys working either side of them have to isolate so factory output is lower than planned. I ordered on August 14th but I'm not sure what date the order was submitted with VW.

@VioletVW I’m guessing you’ve never had a build date from them? I followed Woodmans lead and went on the online chat in the Vw commercial vehicle website. They were extremely helpful.

No, no build date as it's not direct with dealer. Purchasing through a lease company. I couldn't ignore the larger savings.

I had a call too! My call went from bad to worse! I have been told that the two vehicles which I have paid deposits on are probably built and possibly even in the country. However, VW are refusing to supply them to my supplier! My supplier has told me that my ordered vehicles will now be delivered to bona fide VW dealers so that they can sell them as stock vans! This is apparently because the VW dealers are struggling for stock because of the supply issues.

I have been told that the supply issues were caused by the Germans being convinced that Brexit would reduce demand and so production for the UK was deliberately reduced by 40%.

I have a very long list of parts and accessories and have prepaid for my conversion for one van. I have prepaid for an Ovano, insulating and carpet lining on the second van!

I AM OUTGRAGED!

Sad news that Hermann the sliding window man has fallen victim to Covid, fortunately his apprentice recently qualified.
As a tribute VW Hanover are going to leave the coffin lid slightly open, it was his last request.

I've bought a new T6.1 from a conversion company who had already ordered a few at end of last year and expected to have them all delivered first thing this month. Unfortunately, mine wasn't delivered. The VW dealership they've bought through seem just as confused and keep expecting it 'anytime now' and the last I heard it should be this week. Disappointed to have just been told that it's still in Germany and about to cross over. I totally trust my converter so not too concerned with the fact I've paid for it, but very frustrated!! I do feel better though after reading other people's experiences and finding I'm far from alone in this.
