T6.1 new order delays

I ordered 28th June 2021 and my van got delivered 28th November so 17 months wait but got zilch price increase. I did ask the dealer how come as lots on the forum have and he said why would we? You’ve waited long enough for it so we would be embarrassed to.

I've just heard from the converter who mentioned that VW may hike prices for T6.1s due for delivery after April. I'm not sure whether to believe this or not but, if true, VW are even more shoddy that I could ever have imagined with regards to an outgoing model for which no more orders are being taken.

Of course it may well be that VW are softening up buyers so they can move prices higher when the T8/Transit is launched. With no VW medium van available to buy now, I'd imagine VW will have to make a launch announcement within the next couple of months.

Just to give you my experience I ordered my van through Vanarama on finance lease so balloon payment at the end.

Ordered Oct 21, delivered Nov 22.

T32 Highline Kombi without many extras.

Vw did put an increase on the OTR price, I don’t know how much but Vanarama swallowed the difference. I had to sign new agreements but no change to pricing or balloon payment.

I have heard of others that ordered just before me that had around £800 added to their balloon payment (same setup through Vanarama).

I had previously spat my dummy out with Vanarama because it took them two months to order the van, so ended up with the ‘special order team’ and therefore wonder if that was the reason they didn’t apply the increase.

Aside from the initial order problems they’ve been very good to deal with, giving me the dealers contact details for updates etc

Got a LWB panel van on order through Lookers Guildford but not been allocated a build slot yet. What are my chances of changing it for a SWB Kombi do we think? Had originally ordered it as a designated camper but with inflation how it is I think it’s only going to be financially viable if I replace my car with it.

I was told that, prior to having a build date, I could change my order without jeopardising my place in the queue. A word of warning though - they also told me that any price guarantee would be reset using the RRP effective at the point of the change.

Thanks Bav, good to know. I ordered it via Forces Cars Direct who are a broker so I guess I’ll need to go back through them and see what the damage is, if they apply their discount to the current prices then that’s fair enough. Fingers crossed they can do it, otherwise I’ll cancel and look for a used one.

I've got a kombi on order due in may with vanarama.
I spoke to them regarding any price increase and they said no.
Mines a lwb dsg highline .with led lights and a couple of extras. It totals 41k . Looking at prices of used ones on VW dealer sites it looks cheap now

I’ll check if it’s even possible first Gents, I ordered it through a specialist Forces broker so not sure they’d be willing to carry the price to someone else, especially if they’re not in the Forces, it’s pretty heavily discounted. Will come back to you.

My first contact direct from the dealer was today (ordered in December 2021 through AutoeBid) to let me know that I cannot have the colour that I ordered - Bay Leaf Green - and that I would have to change it.

So out of the rubbish colours left I have had to go for Starlight Blue not happy at all....
