T6.1 new order delays

Week 9 panel van 150 dsg. Once built in week 9 does anyone know how long before it gets to dealership?
Well that’s an interesting question. According to VW chat this morning (trying to get a confirmation of my own week 9 PV) they say 6-10 weeks from build to arrival at van centre.

But that is at odds with everything that dealers have told me, which has been consistent at 4-5 weeks.

Does anyone know how to speak to VW for a status once the dealer has provided this SLI number for the build?

Thank you in advance.

Iain

So I phoned 0800 783 4909 and gave them the order number that the dealer provided me. They are able to confirm the status of the order. My order is at 00 apparently there is an issue with the order itself and I need to take it up with the dealer sigh, only ordered it a month ago.

I ordered and paid a large deposit for a new T6.1 Combi Hiline through Vanzone last November. Have had regular updates saying on course for delivery in March as per by order. Then got a call today saying VW not honouring order so would have to cancel. Blamed on VW cutting supplies to UK fleet operators. AM now seriously angry especially I was told when ordering that VW were committing to honour price if I ordered before end of November even if there was a no deal Brexit. Has anyone heard similar? Very tempted to have a go at VW over this.

What are you going to have a go about?

They don't have to supply your fleet dealer and would no doubt rather the limited stock they do have is sold through franchised dealers.

Fair enough if VW:

1. Had not accepted the order last November
2. Waited 3 months before deciding to cancel it
3. Had not promised that if I order before end of November they would honour the price even if there was a no deal Brexit

Changing their policy going forward would be OK but not applying it retrospectively to orders they have accepted and promised to honour.

You're not alone here. There are several of us who have been wasting our time with this operator. I ordered in August and wasted 6 months.

I'm now back in the queue but still 6 months from owning a van.

I went with Autoebid this time, excellent deal, and I'm now with direct with a dealer.

In another time, Vanzone may have worked out perfectly, but with Brexit and Covid its all gone down the swanny.

We live and learn eh?

I would be seriously miffed at this. No way to deal with people.

not disimillar to changing engines, I ordered a 199 as did many people but were getting 204's!

I don’t get the problem with that, or what there is to moan about?
I'm not moaning at all, Its just a principle that VW can basically do as they please. The customer is not really their concern.
