Got some good news today,I have got a date to go to the factory in hannover
It's the same week as my build ,that would be good to see my van coming down the line .

How'd you manage that one then? Do they do tours or something? :)

And what would odds be of being able to upgrade your build while there? ;)

I read it on a vw California forum ,that they had been there .I couldn't find how to get on the tour .So I emailed the car factory as they do tours and asked if it was possible to go to hannover .They forwarded my email to hannover and they came back to me .But then when I said we were English and gave her the date we wanted to go ,she said they didn't have an English tour on that date .
So tried the sob story telling her I had waited 8 months for my van and we were in Germany and it was the only time we could come .so Thursday 1St of September is tour day .
If any one wants details let me know ,it's free to go

I can't imagine anything worse than watching someone build me a van, or a house, or anything for that matter. I only want to see the finished product. I'd be too tempted to say "can you wack that a little softer please!", "watch your belt buckles against the bloody paintwork would ya" Or "sorry, can you please go back, that bricks a little out of line". Right anal git I am. Probably why I run my own business. Like many people on here I imagine.

On another note, my van is still ahead of schedule - week 35 build...Time is looming!

I think (should things go according to plan, they still may not) I will genuinely miss the suspense and teasing anticipation of wondering if VW have been LYING to me or not and whether I'd be lucky to get the van at the start of april '19.

I may get inside for the first time and look sad:( that it was all to easy

@LouisBalodis lol I am exactly the same. Our whole reputation for our business is about just our much of perfectionist we are and is also whilst we do so well. We brought a new house in November and I have lost count how many times I have had the contracts manager and construction director round to make they do thing my way (the right way) and they must hate me. I have had the kitchen replaced (or most of it) 3 times along with the ensuite completely ripped out and one of the wall back to brick and started again. We have a porthole type window and the drainage hole was not quite at the bottom so I made them take it out and re fit it. I spoke with the flooring contractor today because I am not happy with the hallway floor so they are coming to replace it on the 20th and 21st September and I told him that he best send his best people because I am a picky b*****d and he said he knew lol.

Exactly. In fact I'd probably demand that Mr. Volkswagon himself come down and build my van - "he's the only person I trust!" i'd bellow. As everyone stares and gives me a dodgy 'is this Tommy sane?' look

Just had some good news in that my build week has been brought forward from wk39 to a "CONFIRMED" code 20 at wk 35 which he said is next week. Well excited and didn't expect it so soon (ordered 28th June) considering some of the delays some of you guys have.
Hopefully VW have sorted their shit and you guys will start getting your vans soon too.

Got home this evening and had s little postcard from Vw dealership with my confirmed build date
Week 35 for me also, ordered mid June but wasn't put on the system until July 1st because of the euro 6 engines.

Quite a few now with week 35 ,I will keep an eye out when I do the Factor tour on week 35 .

Build week 37 for me. Then 3 weeks shipping, then 2-4 weeks of graphics and fit out in the back.:(

I want air con for summer. At least I'll have it for winter.
