T6 Fuse panel layout - Engine and Cabin

looks to me like hes got the full four fuses down there . . . .

a nightmare to get to without taking the panel out . . . .

so you going to have to take that blue box fuse out.

3rd up from the very bottom right. (under the pink box fuse)

this one . . . . .

out of interest @3crispies - - - - how did you manage to blow it anyway? 20Amps!!!!!!

Exact thing happened to me a few days ago blew the same 20amp j fuse that supplies the top 12v socket when my phone charger fell apart, my auto function for the lights and wipers quit at the same time and never work again after the fuse was replaced.
I've tried disconnecting the battery but no joy, had to give up and it's booked into vw to have a look at.

Whaaaaat....

That's interesting, I'll have to look into that tomorrow.

Perm live....?

you sure you haven't got another battery?

Those sockets are ignition live unless off the aux battery.

I'll dig out some diagrams.

Nothing under drivers seat or passenger bench.?

The dash top 12V socket on my new panel van is permanently live: I bought a rechargeable torch that plugs into these sockets, but when I saw that the status light was on all the time, even with the ignition off, I removed it for fear of draining the battery (if left long enough).

Good evening all.

First post so hoping you can help me here.

Posting on behalf of my son who has recently been given a T60 which he loves.

Problem is he has inadvertently managed to blow the fuse on the dash top cigarette lighter socket and as he isn't mechanically minded he has asked me to try and sort it for him.

After reading the shiney new owners manual and been absolutley amazed to find some lame excuse about "At the time of print" being unable to provide a diagram or details of the fusebox(s) layouts I set about checking myself.
After quick look around the usual van fusebox situs I quickly found the one below the dashboard cup holder / drawer.
In the abscence of a diagram, I firstly checked all of the 10A (All ok) then the 15A (All ok)then, after looking in the engine compartment and not being able to see another fusebox I went back to the fusebox beneath the cup holder and checked every single fuse. (All ok)
After a quick google I read a mention of a under the passenger seat fusebox so decided to investigate this option.
A quick yank and lift up on the rear of the passenger seat revealed a small 4 row fuse holder section, this contained only one 15A fuse and upon inspection it was blown, success, or so I thought, I replaced the fuse, tested the dashtop cigarette socket and still no power ?????
I tried the cup holder power socket and it worked perfectly, it was at this point my son told me that the cup holder power socket wasn't working when he got the van Two weeks ago but he wasn't too concerned as the dashtop power socket was working ok.
So it seems that I've sorted the previously non working cup holder power socket but the recently blown fuse that supplies power to the dashtop power socket remains undiscovered !!!
So, if the good folk of this forum could please point me in the direction of the aforementioned fuse is located, I would be very grateful.
Thank you and regards in advance, The Soulman.

If he has a second battery under the seat, you may find another single fuse holder near the collection of plugs under the seat.
Otherwise it will fuse SC40 in the main fuse box under the cup holder right at the bottom there are some larger block fuses.

hello,

I've had a look at my fuses and there is no indication as to what fuse is what?
The manual even states I need to go to VW to get this information... seems a bit stupid!

Is there any software available that will give me all the info on my T6?
In the past i have had ford software & Volvo Vida where I can connect to the obd or put in vin and get all the data for my vehicle which is very useful.

Cheers

Alan

Lots of threads on this. Here’s an example.

Panel Van Fuse Layout;

It does depend a lot on which T6 you have, and which options are fitted.

Have a look around using the search function, and you should find what you need.

Hello
New T6 owner here.
I picked up my 2016 T6 last week and will be leaving on our first camping trip tomorrow.
As far as I can see, this is the first vehicle I've owned (about the 33rd) that does not have a fuse layout in the owner's manual or marked in or on the fuse box. I've also searched online but can't seem to find a definitive diagram anywhere.
Can anyone tell me if I'm missing the bleeding obvious somewhere or is VW keeping this a closely guarded secret to earn revenue for their dealers whenever a fuse blows?
Cheers

Hi @La Dodgy Vita ... if you join the VIP club you will find other resources to help.....but as a rough guide...if you have a comfort dash ( pull open the bottle cooler ..locate the tabs unit comes off ) interior fuse board....if normal dash ...remove lower dash trim on driver side ( I think )..or middle lower trim ..other locations for fuses engine bay near battery or some models under seats....but I've found additional benefits being a VIP

My BMW I had before the T6 was the same. What I would consider as standard maintenance information is now not provided by default. I guess this is less and less important as people don’t ever look under the bonnet and call the AA to change a tyre.

It’s also worth noting that the layouts vary massively depending on your van config, this does make sense when you think about it, the same base vehicle is used for a massive variety of products so getting a one size (or fuse box in this case) fits all approach would be tricky.

Good luck sorting your issue and I hope your trip goes ahead as planned!

(and sign up for VIP, it gives you access to the best living breathing Haynes manual!)

Thanks for the replies.
I found the fuse box but there are no further clues in there or on the lid as to which fuse does what.
No problem becoming a VIP member - just need to see whether the wife and I survive this, our first camping trip or whether the van will be up for sale next week:)
Re deep pockets; why stop now? I could write a book on the money I've wasted on my 33 or so cars so far! Then again probably best not to think about it....
Cheers
