Hello Chaps and Chapesses
I hope that you can help me
I've recently bought this beauty which is a T32 204 DSG 4motion that I believe has Bilstein B14 Coilovers fitted which while I find the stance very appealing to the eye, we tow a 2 ton caravan as well as this being my daily driver it worries me that without any load the tow ball is already on the lower recommended limit... therefore I am considering going down the air route
I hope that you peeps can give me some advice... I am running Judd 311r's with 275/35 tyres
Aims
Retain the existing ride height for day to day use
Self-leveling when loaded
Raise the ride height for towing and bumpy campsites... nothing extreme
Lowering for car park entry
Any advice and recommendation would be great regarding comfort, wheel sizes, different systems plusses minuses etc would be most welcome... I've looked at airride but they just sent me links to their website and the other I've looked at was VB but am a little concerned about how low it would go to retain the existing look... Please help

Any photos of where people have mounted Airlift controller please
All the kit has arrived to fit my van, was told to contact RTA Fabrication ( unsuccessfully so far) to enquire about air vent mounting
Has anyone done this, and do you send trim, how do you remove etc

My controller is on a magnet and lives in that space above. Normally don’t have the controller out. My phone lives there and I use the app..

Who does the cradles?

A lot of great pics on here and I’m persuaded that I’m going to go for air, probably after Xmas when things are a bit more normal (ish) and hopefully before the next lockdown.

i‘m more or less decided on ABP with Acuair Elevel but am open to others if they fit the bill. Almost all the pics on here show your vans aired out though, any chance of some at the opposite end of the scale.

To give some perspective I want to put AT tyres on (or at least something a bit grippier on mud than my current Cross Climates) and end up with a ride height similar to now (B14s about 70mm drop giving an overall height of 1.97m to top of poptop) in normal driving, but with the ability to jack up as high as possible for deep potholed farm/forestry tracks. I’m not too bothered about a car park mode as the van comfortably fits in any under 2m barrier at the moment, but I wouldn’t mind a third sport mode that lowered it as much as feasible for autobahn blasting.

I've been reading that the VB doesn’t allow you to customise the ride heights of any of its modes, but do any of the others?

Problem may be those type of tyres if you aired out but here’s a example of it up and down on the same wheels, think it could have went higher... will try get a pic later.

Other option is so low suspension via lowdown guys which I would go for instead of abp now

I run airlift 3P and you can fully customise each ride height setting in each corner digitally and on a app on your phone. 3H is a little more expensive but will give you the self levelling option with x4 extra sensors.

@Keaney I’ve heard (only heard) that the SoLow doesn’t go as low on the rear?
Also if I brought just the SoLow’s struts and bags front and rear could these be easily swapped out as the management system is still in place? Just a case of replacing the bags and struts and just re use the air lines? Same connections? Just for future reference..

Thanks, that first one looks as high as I‘d need. I’d sacrifice the tyres if necessary and go for a halfway house like the Latitude Cross or Nokian Weatherproof You have the exact setup I was going to go for, but you’re not happy with it? Is it because it doesn’t go low enough or something else I should be concerned about?
