Turn off Stop / Start

I bought the stop start memory module off ebay, just wired it in this morning. Used a spare fuse position (27) in the fusebox (comes on with ignition) for the +12v supply to it (1A fuse), a ground from the chassis and spliced the sense wire into the Brown/Black wire from the back of the switch in the dash. Works as expected, remembers whatever it was when the ignition was last on

I've witnessed the start/stop function working just once for one day on my T6 since buying second hand a couple of months ago? Personally, I would like to see it working continuously just to rule out any faults. Its been causing me a headache trying to work out what is preventing the start/stop from working! ODBEleven user btw :)

I’d say that it’s likely your starter battery is not fully charged (up to the 80% needed) if you’ve ruled out other factors (such as having the air-con on the windscreen etc) as when I bought our last car (BMW) with stop/start, it took a few weeks for the battery charge to recover from having sat on the forecourt.

Found something very interesting today whilst troubleshooting a couple of DTC's. In the UDC (?) settings for the battery it was programmed as 068 JCB 1111111111 in control unit 61 adaptation/byte 004 (battery replacement)
I have corrected this with the value 068 VAO (and serial number of the AGM battery).... I'm yet to test the change, not really holding any hopes as of yet. Will post if this resolves my start/stop.

Okay different method, my start stop is disabled using the adaption I posted above on the battery regulator.

I tried the Engine control module 2 years ago when we first looked at this and it just threw up errors, but interested in the coding change you have used on the ecm..

I also have a T6 2018 and pissed with SSA. What does this temp min/max mean? the thing i is here in the north its a bit colder ....

Can it be switched off with VCDS?
well yes and no, because it is an integrated part of the ECM and power MAP/strategy there is simply No off button. Some people have sussed out that by disconnecting the "shunt module on the battery" (an old BMW trick), but with unknown issues down the road.

There is a side effect of doing this disconnect down the line, (1) The beefed up parts will last longer (2) The expensive AGM battery will certainly last longer, one BMW blogger has been running with the disconnect for well over 2 years and has had NO issues, I have been running my 2 Merc`s with the disconnect, one for 9 months, NO problems. I would like the scare mongers to offer any information as to what that disconnected or failed sensor can possibly effect down the line, can`t be the battery as it lasts twice as long without stop start being activated, can`t be having no regeneration as without that function the alternator will endeavour to fully charge the battery hence the battery will last longer, so what effect down the line will the disconnected battery sensor have, it does not even throw an engine management light on my Merc`s. Perhaps the real problem for the scare mongers is that this method is free.

Please, if anyone has any information regarding any adverse effects of disconnecting this sensor please post them so others can benefit, Rob.

At the risk of being flamed.......
This is getting a bit repetitive - 14 posts only all saying the same thing time and time again! OK a couple of times but 14? Maybe post about something else? I am perfectly happy with the ebay gizmo's function without thinking about your 2 Mercs.;)

All it does is change the range where it is allowed to work. You put in a value it will never achieve and it never kicks in.

I’m not going to flame you - I agree with you.
Just buy the eBay gadget and move on - it’s a much lower risk option on a vehicle that may be under warranty.
But I don’t think this poster has a T6.

Sorry I upset you, what you are saying is that messing with the original coding or fitting an after market part that interferes with the system will not void your warranty, yet a failed or disconnected sensor will.o_O

But, do you have a T6 was the second part of the question?
