VW Service waiting times

there we go, BOOM . . . . just like that.. . .

not sure why he didn't offer to change the sensor at your place? - maybe its a long round trip to TPS for the parts?

or too tricky to do road side?

either way they (VW) are now obliged to get you in within the 72hrs to get it fixed.

a great service - and one that we can all tap into as part of the "ALL-IN" package they offer.

..............

my two local garages ( van centre main dealers ) are a joke. . . they are always 6weeks plus for anything.

next time round, im going further afield - outside of London, in the hope that they are not so busy and can offer a better service than the local ones don't.

the locals are constantly running round like headless chickens, are impossible to get on the phone, who don't reply to emails and just generally offer a poor customer experience.

as soon as my vans are out of all extended warranties i will happily take them to local independent or mobile VW specialist garages.

I thought it was just my local dealer who were silly busy as I am in Highland Scotland so the next nearest dealer to Hawco Inverness is over 100 away.

I have a theory that a big reason all the dealers are mega busy is that supplies of new vans have tried up, so people are keeping theirs an extra year or 2 years until the new one is launched. A much older average fleet age means more faults occurring but only the same number of dealerships to fix them hence long waits

Dell if you are on the East or South side I can recommend CVS in Canterbury as a place I can get into usually quite quickly.

Too difficult to do roadside. You need to remove a load of stuff to get the the sensor. You can’t even see it without doing that. I think it helps if you can get under the van too.

Five days after I called the VW Tech out, the van has been repaired. It was as the technician said on the drive - faulty temperature sensor. Manchester Van Centre has had the van since Monday but it took a week because they had to get sign off from VW for the warranty claim. So all’s good. If you’ve got VW Assist, insist on the VW Technician in the silver van! They said there could be a wait but he was with me in 90 mins.

While driving, pop up message tells me service is due in 800 miles.
2 minutes later VW service calls me to book the car in for oil and filter service. I can get the car in 2 days from now if needed.
Immediate availability if you pay, warranty repairs… 3 months…
