Welcome new members

Hi All,

(Managed to stuff up the first post by copying Dorlo's msg above! corrected now...)

New to forum and Transporters. Fancied a Transporter for a while... hired a campervan last year... been looking ever since... then a 2nd dog, dog cage and a cramped trip to the beach convinced us to get one. Picked up this 68 plate SWB T32 150 Highline last week . Previous owner has added what you can see, we plan to keep it simple (...) and carpet/soundproof, swop headlights to H7s and lower, I think...

Never bought alloys or lowered before so plan to check this great forum out for an idiots guide!

Any suggestions on lowering with these 18s (Wolfrace Aeros?) most welcome. Not 100% sure about the front spoiler either but will see.

Cheers for now

How do you plan and carrying the dogs?

Hey @Pidsley

Got this, originally for my Volvo V60 but more room in the T6!

tied to the 2 lashing points at rear of the seats. Might also remove the 2 seats and it would fit there, if we needed the space (daughter would sit on the single seat).

Looks good. I'm wondering how to do this with a fully converted camper.
ah, different challenge! It’s from DT Boxes in Northern Ireland, great product and helpful guys so they may have done something before… or may want to develop…

Hi everyone,

I'm based in Ireland and have been lurking for a short while after acquiring my 2016 T6 SWB last year, looking at all the knowledge here is great and I'm glad there are so many experts about to learn from! I'm slowly working on building an all-rounder/modular camper so lots to do.

Cheers

Hi all, new here! My T6.1 high line Kombi is being built this week! Dealer reckons it will be with me at the end of July but this stories in this forum are making me doubt that .

anybody got any reviews of the 5 speed 110ps? I test drove it before ordering and it was great from A-B but I did miss that 6th gear on the motorway

Bit late to have doubts on the 110!

But as for delivery, end of July sounds about right. It will be at Emden in around 2-3 days after completion at factory, but all depends how long it sots there waiting for a slot on a ship. 2-3 weeks isnt unusual. Then about a week to 10 days from arrival in UK til you can collect

Hi,

New forum member here as we are just speccing up a California Coast or Ocean.

First question, given the current demand for campervans is it to be expected that there is little or no discount on ordering a new van..? Or do I need to try harder..!?
There is an offer at the moment to include 4yrs servicing, 4rs roadside assistance and Caravan Club membership.

The specs we are looking at are as follows, would be useful for any feedback on whats useful or useless..;-)

Ocean 150BHP 7 Speed DSG

Choice of Metallic Paints
Removable Tow Bar
Removable 5th Seat
17” Woodstock alloys
All Weather Tyres
Comfort Mattress
80L Fuel Tank
First Aid Kit With Warning Triangle and Safety vest
All other Ocean features

Coast 150BHP 7 Speed DSG 2.0 Diesel

Choice of metallic paints
Removable Tow Bar
Removable 5th Seat
16” Clayton Alloys
All Weather Tyres
Comfort Mattress
Rear View Camera
LED Headlights
80L Fuel Tank
First Aid Kit with warning triangle and safety vest
All usual Coast features

Cheers

Simon

I wouldn’t say i have doubts but i would have prefered the 150ps 6 speed. However, the 1 year wait wasn’t appealing whereas the 110ps had just been cancelled by someone so i snapped it up. Hence me (hopefully) only having to wait a few weeks.

Thanks for the insight on the building/shipping process

Hi, not got a van yet but it’s on order from Absolive vans, highline 150 dsg kombi. Only downside is a nine month wait from VW, still lots of time to plan

Afternoon all, have been lurking for near on 2 years took the plunge and joined today...

Took ownership of our 2019 T6 (T28, SWB, 102PS, 2.0 TDI, 5200 miles) startline (with AC and reverse parking sensors) end of Oct 2020. When the converter asks what type of basevan we wanted, the list of " must have" was AC and parking sensors... these were the only two important specs I was bothered about, after all, I was giving up my super reliable 10y old 120k miles Skoda Superb Elegance 2.0 TDI 4x4 with all trimmings whilst hubby still drives his BMW. .. oh and colour preferably not white as I did not want to drive to work everyday as a "white van" woman ... well got the "must have" spec and a white PV van in Feb 2020...

Here is Snoopy after the conversion ... I did put the decals on myself... tip... November is really not the right time to do this ...since then I have installed an under engine tray, front bumper carbon protector, had aftermarket H7 headlights fitted, wind deflectors, some chrome styling on the dash, dash & door liners, second door seals ("sounds just like a golf"), had a flexible solar panel fitted, lined the cupboards, installed some coat hooks, put up some remote control/utensil trays, eliminated squeaks & rattles with silicone spray and selfadhesive felt tape, waterproofed the canvas, adapted a heatresistant chopping board for additional work surface over the sink and other little bits here and there... next project is grab handles on the A & B pillars, they should be here next week and maybe I'll will find some time to actually go somewhere with it this year... sorry for the long intro for those that managed to read to the end
