Welcome new members

Thanks! I didn't realise I could look at camper conversion only and had been scrolling through everything with "for sale" much appreciated.
These tags only work when threads are tagged appropriately - so do check with free-text searches, too.

You can input more than one search tag, like ‘camper conversion’ and ‘4Motion’ for example, to narrow it down

Hi new here. Recently purchased a partially converted T5.1 (pop top and carpeting done) and very much looking forward to a new project to work on that isn’t the house or garden!

First job is electrics (hook up, solar and ac-ac).

No doubt I’ll have lots of questions and seek recommendations etc but the forum has already proven useful!

Welcome to the Forum James, try not to neglect the house or garden though, these vans can be 'all consuming', especially when it comes to your bank balance!

Hi Pauly, Do I get a uniform:) Great to be amongst like minded people?
The campers amongst us have an unofficial (and self-funded) uniform consisting of a Dry Robe (other change robes are available) + Crocs. If you're a non-camper, I believe the wearing of pants & trousers is also permitted!!!

Hi all. New 'un here. Still in the contemplating phase so poking around to see what owners' experiences are like etc. Thanks for having me.

Currently drive a 3.6 Outback, thinking about swapping that out for a used but lowish km T6.1 Multivan for ability to carry additional passengers and 3rd row removal to carry a few mountain bikes or a motorbike.

I've read some reports about frequent issues under warranty. I live a good hour from the closest dealer, so I'm hoping to figure out whether issues are more common on new vans so a 3 year old van with 50,000kms would be reasonably trouble free...or they keep coming.

Cheers all.

Gidds.

Hi everyone, I am about to get my new T6. I am looking forward to putting in solar panels with a Fogstar drift lithium battery coupled with a Renogy charge controller. I am considering using Armaflex as insulation as it offers many benefits over other forms. I would welcome any helpful pointers on all this especially when it comes to installing the furniture and cabinets etc. I have woodwork and electrical installation experience and know my way around vehicles (engines, bodywork repair, computers, ECUs etc). Looking forward to it all :)

Joined earlier this year but took a while to find the right van. Bought a Caravelle from Eurobrands in Herts. Can recommend them if you’re looking for a Caravelle as Lee there specialises in them and has the best selection I could find nearby.

Just got back from a road trip across Spain and Portugal. We took the overnight ferry to Santander and loved how they put all the Transporters in the same lane, quite the sight!

Hi all, been following the forum since the start of the year but first time posting. And after buying one van, buying a second a month later, then selling the first one, we're finally getting somewhere.

De-chromed, insulation, carpet lining, electrics and windows are in. Off to Scotland end of this month for the ply guys to fit out the rear and hoping to have a new set of wheels on before then!
