Finally Collected the T6.1 Kombi
yesterday!!
Will use it for a bit and decide wether to make any further modifications, a few smaller mods I am considering are
Swivel seats
Dash rubber
Are the replacement/extra door seal worth investing in?
Smaller alloys, the lowered suspension and 20in/40 tyres are rather firm, considering 19’s, but I’m not rushing into that yet.
Unfortunately It has the hideous taco housing in the dash which is a shame, I can’t find any info on replacing it with something more useful like a speaker or better still an actual glove box. any suggestion are welcome.
Welcome to the party!
I think I have that sized 19” tyres and they work well with alloys and lowered suspension. Plenty go for smaller wheels too though for extra comfort but I’m happy with mine. People seem to rave about cross climate tyres but I currently have cheap “ditch finders” and they seem fine (it’s not a sports car!) albeit noisy.
I’ve had my insurance through just kampers since I got the van and they are reasonably cheap for what’s being insured (mine is a full camper and insured for low yearly mileage + solely leisure use). Howdens are supposed to be good too although I’ve found them a similar price so haven’t bothered to switch yet.
LV vans are smart looking vans so it would be good to see some photos when you get it. Any plans for further adaptions? There are a few ads on here currently for bed/camping pods to go in the back of day vans, worth considering if you haven’t already. Also if you take up the VIP membership you’ll be able to sell those 20s on the forum.
