Welcome new members

Welcome to the party!

I think I have that sized 19” tyres and they work well with alloys and lowered suspension. Plenty go for smaller wheels too though for extra comfort but I’m happy with mine. People seem to rave about cross climate tyres but I currently have cheap “ditch finders” and they seem fine (it’s not a sports car!) albeit noisy.

I’ve had my insurance through just kampers since I got the van and they are reasonably cheap for what’s being insured (mine is a full camper and insured for low yearly mileage + solely leisure use). Howdens are supposed to be good too although I’ve found them a similar price so haven’t bothered to switch yet.

LV vans are smart looking vans so it would be good to see some photos when you get it. Any plans for further adaptions? There are a few ads on here currently for bed/camping pods to go in the back of day vans, worth considering if you haven’t already. Also if you take up the VIP membership you’ll be able to sell those 20s on the forum.

Finally Collected the T6.1 Kombi
yesterday!!

Will use it for a bit and decide wether to make any further modifications, a few smaller mods I am considering are
Swivel seats
Dash rubber
Are the replacement/extra door seal worth investing in?
Smaller alloys, the lowered suspension and 20in/40 tyres are rather firm, considering 19’s, but I’m not rushing into that yet.

Unfortunately It has the hideous taco housing in the dash which is a shame, I can’t find any info on replacing it with something more useful like a speaker or better still an actual glove box. any suggestion are welcome.

Congrats! There are a couple of threads on here about removing the tachograph monstrosity, but, apparently, the dash gets butchered when they fit those, so not just a case of removal. :(

Hello all. I`m Lenny from the Netherlands. I just bought a VW Caravelle T6 (155.000 km / 96.875 miles) for the family (6 in total). In terms of space, it’s already a huge advantage.

I want to do the maintenance myself, so that’s why I join this forum.

Welcome to the T6 world @Lenny T6 hopefully you will find all the info you are looking for. There are some very knowledgeable people on here so if you get stuck, just ask.

Hi there,
This is Jose, owner of a VW for the first time. I got an ex RAC T6 LWB and I’m learning through the conversion journey.
Cheers
Welcome to us all @First_time_VW !
We will obviously require pictorial proof of your purchase.
Distrusting lot that we are!
Seriously, good to have you, enjoy what can become 'all consuming!'

Good evening, I'm presenting myself as a new arrival to the forum. Have been a silent reader for some time, learning the rules and leveraging the knowledge base.

Collected a new (to me) 67 plate T6 SWB 4Motion yesterday. Few things I need to ask in the various sub forums, so will get on with that shortly. Will also post the required picture as evidence when I work out how to do that.

Pleasure to meet you all.

A warm welcome @rmiller504 , this is a wonderful place to be, but be aware, it can be financially ruinous!

Hi All,

New van owner, just picked it up this morning. Conversion to start as soon as we’ve decided the exact layout. Will be trawling through a lot of posts, and probably asking a lot (many stupid) of questions. Thanks and apologies in advance
