Welcome new members

Yes, it is - for CB radio, temporary placement.
I thought that it might be. They used to be quite popular years ago but could be misused in larger conurbations. Dead keying and so on. Very useful off road or getting information from truckers on it. I think he mobile phone probably all but killed it off. However one did have some interesting conversations with people in remote areas and less rule based compared ammeter radio.

hello everyone trying to get some knowledge insight s and opinions before i join the ranks.
Welcome to the Forum @WasIshSahVan , we may be unsightly, and full of opinions, but knowledge is massive on here, what have you got? Getting? Forum membership at £12.99 for a year is certainly the best purchase that you will make for the van. If you have a van, we would love to see a picture of it, we are nosey that way!

Looking for a leisure van for me and the family for more trips in and around the UK as well as going to Europe in summer. Something like a t6 /t6.1
Great stuff.

Have you found/used the search function yet? This will be your new best friend as topics such as which van, which options, what price, potential issues, what to look out for when viewing, etc., etc. have all been extensively covered.

Just be aware that where 2 or more forum members are gathered, at least 2 dozen opinions will be voiced. It is the way of the forum.

Not Yet. But I will... :) I am just looking through the forum just now and have already found loads of useful info. I am going to have a look at a 2020 199bhp Caravelle in a few days.

Exciting times!

As @Drive Wayne suggests, it's mandatory to post pics once you've got your van.

Oooooh, you won't be disappointed!
The Caravelle is a family friendly choice that allows one to travel at normal speeds legally not needing to comply with commercial limits. It is very versatile. It can still be used for camping like any other either as is or converted to what ever one may want. They can come quite highly specked even 4Motion with diff locks if needed.

Hi all, newbie here. Having spent the last few weeks since picking up my van trawling the forum (much to my wife’s dismay) it’s great to see so much knowledge and advice being shared. So far you’ve made me buy:
- 235/65/17 wild peaks on the devonport wheels
- h7 caravelle lights upgrade from standard h4
- gladen t6 speaker upgrade
- Carista for programming headlights and a few other nice little tweaks
It’s been a fun few weeks, until the weekend when I came across the egr pipe posts after being convinced I could hear a hiss. No surprise the front one was absolutely caked in soot so that got replaced but couldn’t quite detect any issues with the rear one, but the noise hasn’t gone and it smells under the bonnet on regen. Got the wife’s phone in there Tonight and spotted this (attached pic) on the underside. Is that 3 small holes with soot deposits in the ribbed section bottom left or do I have confirmation bias ?! It’s the original pipe and the van has 50k miles (17 plate) so probably due to be replaced with the revised part anyways.

Glad to part of the money pit club

I was not disappointed on the whole a few things like it was bought under finance so it needs to be cleared before did a check and called the finance company. It has slight dings which are no to bad but annoying. It really does move well. Has a lot of stuff that would be useful. Mostly space for shopping German beer and schnapps and speed for German Motorway {My summer indulgence).

The Emergency system has an issue which is booked in for repair with a garage. Has been serviced in VW van shop. Our insurance will add it on with the same coverage as our current for not to much xtra. I think I am missing something but I just cant figure what is worrying me .

I kind of have fallen in love with it dings and all.
