What’s your favourite thing on your van?

As a first time van owner and a new owner of a T6.1 I’m learning a lot about these vans, from the various configurations when new to all the retrofit stuff and the never ending after market scene.

So what is the favourite thing about your van? What can you not live without? Something you spec’d or added or just happened to come with your van when you got it?

It’s early days for me but at the moment I think my favourite thing is the radar cruise control, I’ve never had it before and it’s brilliant.

Dsg box
Single passengers seat
Power latching/closing doors
Digital dash

Basically everything vw charge you handsomely for as extras

Lecky seats with memory function so i press #3 and the seat positions itself so i can spin the seats around while clearing the steering wheel etc .
that and the coffee machine .

I love my heated steering wheel. Err... well... I would if I had one! :D
Wifie would really like and benefit from a heated steering wheel. She more often as not wears gloves. I remember my motorcycling days, I had heated gloves and handle bar muffs. I drove in all weather snow, ice what ever. Commuted over 50 miles each way sometime 100 if my wife need to be somewhere different a different health authority. What a difference they made. I always spread my grip to include clutch and brake for more instantaneous response and without those I could have cried with pain on occasions especially with wet gloves. heated and with muffs made such a difference. I appreciate the efforts of those developing them on there own but really their need to be a manufacturer producing them. I would certainly buy one if it became available and fault free.

I've felt that pain - had heated grips, but they did little to nothing for the back of the hands. Had the misfortune to ride through freezing fog a couple of times - ice constantly forming on visor, face, hands, feet, thighs and shins... not to mention the road surface. It was only the need to concentrate so fiercely on staying upright that took my mind off the pain.

I used to ride wearing my Grandfathers Black Prince Belstaff Rubberised M/C gear and in winter a climbers duvet down jacket. Always full face helmet tried various visors covered them with water replants which helped quite a bit. I did not look very glamorous except to a blind walrus perhaps. Less traffic on the road in those days.

I agree. I never really used cruise control on my previous vehicle because it's rare to find yourself on a completely empty road, but the adaptive cruise control is great.

I believe that you are absolutely right concentration is so important when driving anything especially motorcycles.. it is understanding the behaviour of anything in proximity and feeling the risks it does overcome even extreme discomfort because concentration is so intense and focused. No matter what might have been bothering me it just disappeared it was like being in another world.
