It occurs to me that VW are missing a huge upsell opportunity when they sell a new vehicle to individual owners in particular. Since ordering I have learned of several options I wished someone had offered me at the time that are not easy retrofits. Or maybe they just don't want the hassle and would rather build vanilla vehicles

I'd be mighty pi55ed off if I'd found out about the warranty after the 3 month period.
I am still trying to sort this. I spoke to jcb. They know nothing ! I spoke to vw who handed me around all over the place and now back to jcb Westham who are looking into it !!!!!!! It's on the f... website for God's sake.
I am missing something on the warranty mileage but I thought it was 3 years 100k as standard so you can pay extra for 5 years warranty but the mileage drops to 80k ?

3 year as standard. Extra 2 years +80K or +120K depending how much you pay. So 5 years and 180K or 320K.
Yes, The standard warranty is 3 years or 100,00o which ever comes 1st, so assuming you average 15k a year, then your warranty will run out at 45k.
Taking out the extended warranty would ensure you have a warranty up to 80k or 5 years which ever comes 1st, or 120k/5 years.
I did actually speak with the dealer last week regarding this and they offered 5 years 150k for £609, that's the option i'll be going for.

I stand corrected. Indeed I recall working out 5 years at 15K would do me fine.
