What Have You Bought Today?

Some boxes of USB powered LED 'strings' from Lidl. They are billed as TV Backlight Kits but I've got an idea that I can use them to MacGyver up some ambient / halo lighting over the bed board in the roof which is never actually used as a bed and stays up all the time that we're camped. Each box contains the 1M USB power cable, 4 x 450mm LED strands with sticky tape backing, 3 x 300mm interconnects, 3 x 10mm interconnects and a remote control which turns them on and dims as well changes the colour (15 modes) and whether they flash (4 modes!). All that for £6.99 each box - even if the experiment fails, that's still a bargain:

Looking forward to seeing that. Keep us pictured up! I used this stuff (recommended on here) for my light oak worktop, brought it back to new!

Behold my massive hard wood. :p

It's 40mm stuff, I would have liked 28mm but it was just to hard to find. The big piece is 1m by 700mm or so, that'll be getting cut down to an L shape of 650mm x 920mm with a 210mm x 440mm cut out.

Then the 2nd smaller bit will be used for a pull out table, 550mm x 400mm.

Insert multiple innuendos about oiling up my wood, etc etc.

Fat wood look good! Can't wait to see it in its rightful place! No innuendo here, we have staff for that!

Fell at the first hurdle while attempting to fit my new Qwork horn.
I needed to remove the nasty springy bracket for my soon to be removed nasty Noddy horn.
To remove that you need a Torx T50 bit.
I have loads or Torx bits right up to a T40.
Amazon again to the rescue with these beauties!
£9.99 of pure quality...

dont forget to oil BOTH sides. I would have recommend Skydd from IKEA however seems it is no longer produced. Personally not a fan of Danish oil, however if you do use danish oil make sure you unscrumple the cloth and lay it flat as they have a tendency to self combust if scrunched up

Yeah I will do, the large bit has a slight bow to it but it's probably just been stored upright next to other bits, doesn't seem to hard to get that out.

I'm going to use this stuff for coating it, seems to be highly recommend and a bit harder wearing than danish oil.

Whenever I use Danish, I tend to put the cloth in a plastic bag, add enough water to soak it, tie the top tight and bin it.

@NicolasH Still running my D850 and mirrorless Z7II, however the Hasselblad X2D 100 is an incredible beast. Even better than my classic Hasselblad H4D50 and H3D50. Lense on the mirrorless is sharp as a Samurai sword

Alternator charger kit for the Clayton installation.

I think I now have 'almost' everything I need to start the 230v / 12v installation in the van. Looking forward to getting it totally wrong and nothing working and paying a professional. @AJCConversions dont turn your phone off this weekend :think smile bounce:

Make sure you lay that somewhere good and warm , it stinks and never dries in cold weather. I tend to use the worktop oil as it’s thinner , however you can put a brush coat on leave for 10mins then rub the excess of with a lint free cloth . Let it dry then build using a cotton rubber . do both sides
