What Have You Bought Today?

This

A 3m length of LPG hose (will give us more options on positioning the gas burner), a fill-up of the underslung LPG tank and a [almost, but not quite] fill-up of the AdBlue tank.

Not for the van but for use while away in the van…a DJI Mini 3. Fancy trying getting some pics from a different aspect.

Hi,

We have camped in Holland 5,6 times and the standard EHU cable was fine. Looking to start to go to France next year , is the adapter required?

Thanks
Our campsite at Jablines have said in their emails that we need a 2-pin adaptor for their sockets.

Think I have the lot now, warning triangle, spare bulbs, hi-viz jackets for all 3 of us, breathalysers, Crit'Air sticker, UK sticker, headlamp deflectors, electronic toll gate thingy, travel insurance, breakdown cover, turned off all camera notifications on Waze satnav, eurotunnel boarding pass, Disneyland tickets, freshly-renewed passports, van just been serviced and now the EHU adaptor and polarity checker.

Have I missed anything?

While I am on, do I need to know anything about using a dashcam in France?

Dashcams in France are fine, although they have laws and regs about how the footage is used. Don't plaster it all over Facebook or the like, and I'm sure you wouldnt, and you're golden.

I was pulled in Austria over mine. I went through a Autobahn toll booth and the police pulled me over. Told me to disconnect it. Took it very seriously. But I speak German and we had a discussion.

Normally a €100 fine and possibly confiscation.

Switzerland don't like it either. Fortunately I too speak German and removing the device from it's fixed cradle and slipping it in the glovebox made them happy.

Strangely enough out local BMW dealer doesn't like dashcams and will disconnect them. I told them that's fine, I don't like being filmed on their CCTV in the showroom without my consent and they should cease doing so when I'm in the building. They harrumphed a bit but left it alone after that.

Never knew about the Swiss. VW & Tesla also disconnect my dashcams.

It’s a case of knowing the motoring laws in each European Country. There are a few websites which explain the laws relating to Dash Cam recordings when driving Europe. Austria and Portugal are very strict with such matters. As mine is integrated I may have to pull the fuse in restricted Countries.

That's a good point. I have a Tesla. Does the country version still come with the built in dash and sentry cams?

Tyres (Michelin CC2 obvs!) are next.
Don’t discount the Continental All Season Contacts. I have both and the Contis are better in the wet by a reasonable margin with better traction and pure grip. The CCs are marginally better in snow when new.
