What Have You Bought Today?

Not something for the van sadly, but for the house. With the colder weather here, it was time to put the heating on. After a few days the Mrs noticed a rust patch on the floor in the bathroom. Radiator split.

Had the new one arrive today, fitted and bled within an hour. Not bad considering I'm not a plumber!

Original one lasted 6 years.

6 years? not good that... was it the rad naffed or the seal got corroded? bung some Fernox, i think, on it with the PTFE... as well as putting the obligatory inhibitor in.
looks nice though dude.

I think it's because I was putting a wet towel on it after showering, but only having heating on in winter. The outer core had snapped off ans inner core corroded. A new rad was only £140 so not too bad.

Just upset me that the £140 could have bought my side bars :(

Same this way.. heating's only on in Winter - not relevant but my heated windscreen got used for the 1st time this morning :think smile bounce:
Not a bad price at all for that type of rad... looks warm.
silly prices on things now.. had to do the en-suite last year!!! cost a f f f f flaming fortune! did it myself which i was chuffed to bits with... putting it off & putting it off until water came through the ceiling! i know i know...
complete refit back to the insulation & stud walls... new insulation, a few new floor boards, re jig piping then completely shelled it, walls & floor with Backer board, then 2 coats of aqua defence...

My oil fired central heating system is 1 year old this week.....not a cheap install but it's the business and does the job well. I wanted exposed copper piping, 11 radiators, external oil boiler and 1000litre oil tank discreetly hidden behind a folly in my garden. I helped the plumber by fixing the radiators to the walls but drew the line at working in the loft....not a pleasant environment. He earned his money that week !

No thank you. I’d love to get out and shoot it more. Tricky in Swindon finding a place to shoot. Our garden is too small and we’ve neighbours all around.
Same here. We have On Target about a 5 minute drive, which isn't the most thrilling venue but it's all weather and not too expensive.

I bought a new side step the other day from Travellin Lite. It arrived, but I'm having a right nightmare fitting it. Snapped pretty much evrry new clip that came with it, so had to order some genuine vw ones. Anyone got a tip on fitting it?
