What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Fitted the puddle light and door card ambient lighting today. Only had enough time to do one door so will do the other one tomorrow if the weather holds off. The lights in the door card are nowhere near as bright as they appear in the photo but they do look OK.

Then I managed to blow the fuse to the 12v socket in the dash by using my tyre inflator in it :(, now to find out which fuse it is...

Where can I recreate the puddle light? Looks cool!

Dropped it into Droitwich VW to get fixed, was doing the hba retrofit the other day, couldn’t get into the wiring so tried a look behind the dash, too difficult again so put it all back together and won’t start.

Kept coming up with ‘key not found’ tried all sorts including the AA but they think it’s the immobiliser. So had the Ghost disabled and it’s still not starting so booked into the stealer to sort it out.

decided to buy a manual and it says “once the dash is disconnected, the keys will need recoding” so I fired up the vcds but no joy with the immobiliser controller so off to the dealer to sort it plus a minor service so expecting a massive bill. The lass did say it may just be something as simple as a key rematch, let’s hope so.

so the lesson is....do not disconnect the dash!

Today.....Tried to buy more than 2 tins of baked beans ....Tesco’s are now rationing no more than two items per customer.....and apparently the electrical stores can’t keep up with the demand for fridges and freezers as people panic buy....i was thinking of renting out me van fridge ......

Looks great, but the price

I agree, there was a 20 plate Crafter Grand California there, all done out but I didn’t dare ask how much in case they thought I was interested. Had a look online and it’s just short of £80,000 as much as I like VW, I would be looking at a Ferrari or something for that amount of money lol

I pick it up tomorrow so I could do with some reassurance! My issue is the front wind deflector looks on the glass and the rear ends on the undulating roof. If in a slope won’t water get under the seal? Help!

If water gets past the seal, it can’t get in the van as the canvas is sealed to the pop top frame. The wind deflected does look a little forward compared to mine. 90D6854F-799D-450F-AEB5-3A3C5E706691.jpeg

Had the cambelt, auxiliary belt and water pump changed. Also swapped out my rear Stance+ Ultra springs for some that are slightly taller / beefier in order to lift the rear.. drives a lot better now.
I was even happier when the bill came in at only £310.
