What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

It’s a lot better still about 10mm lower on the back but doesn’t really notice. Ride has not changed , but I am running on 17 “ with 235 x55 tyres so the ride is softened. Definitely worth doing..

Thanks. I’m running 16” Claytons, so a high pressure, hard tyre. I may have to see how it goes.

If water gets past the seal, it can’t get in the van as the canvas is sealed to the pop top frame. The wind deflected does look a little forward compared to mine. View attachment 63387
Thanks Rich, I’ve queried the position of the deflector, they say it’s on the roof but the photo they sent looks to me like the glass. I’m dealing with a roof that looks too far forward. I’m gutted to be honest I suspect it can’t be shifted post fit?

Not really as the canvas is fitted relative to the top. If you moved it the canvas would crease and become stressed and could lead to a tear.

I was told theirs is £90k

I agree, there was a 20 plate Crafter Grand California there, all done out but I didn’t dare ask how much in case they thought I was interested. Had a look online and it’s just short of £80,000 as much as I like VW, I would be looking at a Ferrari or something for that amount of money lol

Fitted the gloss black grills and fog light mounts

I did read that it wasn’t possible to remove the fog light mounts without plastic welding but I just about managed it and only lost 2 pints of blood in the process!19839CEA-A3D8-44B3-8B7E-8A683899392B.jpeg 1B101887-DB32-4F01-A874-4C8A6FDE683E.jpeg E359697A-9EFD-41B1-B4DF-96FA05322F7D.jpeg
Fitted LED fog lamps while I had it out.

I do like the gloss black look but may change the badgeless to one with a gloss black badge. Seems a shame getting a VW and taking away the badge but this was bought unused from the forum so good price.

Also fitted some Heko wind deflectors today. So will see it they increase the wind noise as others have found.

Not a proper job unless.you spill some claret. Hopefully nothing to serious. Love the black gloss look on the plastics. Just need to do the lower grilles on mine.

Finally made a start on a single Kombi bed I’ve been thinking about for ages .
I normally just have the mattress on the floor when taking the MTB away for a trip . But being elevated gives me the storage underneath
Completely freestanding as I didn’t want to fix to anything and it needed to be easily removed .
Still need add piano hinge to the lid .
The ply legs will be hinged also so it stores virtually flat In The garage . Fancy carpeting it ? Or paint grey .9B7AEFB5-792C-4721-ABB6-0156DF2E671E.jpeg

carpet!

Fitted new Caravelle steps to the Reimo Variotech floor. Looks much better than the aluminium trim that was fitted as standard.
Caravelle step the perfect height for the floor.
