What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Yeah, what do they do? We have aircon, just wondering if they would be in any way beneficial, or if it’s just for when you’ve got the windows down?

I’ve fitted them to my van and I never ever have my windows open, I just think they look good.

Hi.. @68martin68 ...very nice...just wanted to ask if you’ve had the recall ( from your picture ..see twin electric sliders and assume electric tailgate) mine was done ...something to do with if power washing water can get to electrics and potential of fire...they removed slide cover and resealed the rubber on slider motor ( on outside) ...Good to share info :)

If the vehicle is washed with a high-pressure cleaner, water may enter the interior, damage the control device for the tailgate and cause an incomplete short circuit with localised damage from scorching. When air enters through open windows, doors, or the sliding roof, the damage from scorching can develop into a fire.
The VW T6 Multivan / Transporter models (with an electric tailgate and an electric sliding door) affected by this recall were manufactured between 23. 7. 2015 – 8. 2. 2019.
VW recall code: 58D7

I haven't had it done, but I bought it second hand when it was about 6 months old from a Marshall's dealer, so they may have. I will check for sure! Thanks for letting me know, much appreciated!

Van was in for a service on Friday and they flagged up rear brakes almost done, vans only done 32000 miles but hey ho. Van centre quoted £445 + vat to which I politely declined.
Bank Holiday weekend deal at euro car parts saw a set of brembo discs and pads arrive at my door for £140! Swapped them over today, wire brushed my calipers and gave them a fresh coat of hammerite smooth silver for that oem look.

That's a good deal for Brembo, I shall keep my eye open for that. Just posted a thread on the very subject.

Forgive my ignorance but, what do they do?
First time I've had them on a car or van. They have been great over the weekend with the window down or slightly down when driving.

I have Aircon for when it's hot, but like the window down unless it's really hot. If you run your aircon with the windows down it will cause excessive wear on the system (all air con not just on a van) and will lead to early motor failure.

In addition it means you can have have the windows open slightly when camping to aid air flow / reduce condensation without rain getting in.

Bathroom shelf fitted onto the cupboard door, perfect fit for our Scandic tea & coffee caddys. Hopefully the 3M backing will hold it, it's quite a solid lump.

Few bits added today, white trim by VW Carbon to the lower and upper grills, then replaced the VW chrome badge for a matt black one from Vanstyle, the badge insert was sprayed with grey primer, then over sprayed with VW candy white, also did the rear badge, but not fitted to the van yet, splitter is Maxton design V2, think it all looks pretty good :cool:6761DDDE-8575-4D4E-B68D-47A196DA2D59_1_105_c.jpeg
