What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Looks good, any tips?

watch lots of videos, patience and dont do on the hottest day of the year!

With the wheel arch, I spray glued a bit of panel/carpet at a time and once happy sprayed the next bit.

I did get in a mess a couple of times (wrinkles)! Don’t be afraid to rip it off, respray and give it a good pull while smoothing with your other hand.

I have a sewing tape measure in the garage (seen one being used on one of the Discovery channel custom car shows) which is useful for measuring around corners / curves etc.

forgive my ignorance but is it ok to have the 240 volt cable running this close to a 12 volt cable? just about to run the same two cables from my engine compartment but was planning a bit of separation between them but will copy this if its ok to do so, ta

Did you paint the blue line yourself or is it a bought one?

when I bought the gloss black top / middle grills I popped the inserts out , rub down , paint and lacquered them .Then bought some Caliper paint and added a touch of white to match up best I could with the front . I would have gone red myself ( to match my Porsche because I’m sad !) but wife wanted blue tone throughout.

First go at snow foam using my new Karcher K2 after a trip to the beach.

The Karcher cannon and foam detergent didn’t give super thick foam but it actually stuck pretty well and lifted the dirt off nicely. Interested to see whether a quality foam will be thicker or if it’s the nozzle on the Karcher. But tbh as it worked well so changing it would just be for the aesthetic satisfaction of deeper snow coverage.
Wondering whether the Karcher foam will have stripped the wax though if not neutral....?

Really pleased with it as I got away without having to hand wash as it was getting late, helped by lots of previous wax application and probs mainly because of the white paint being forgiving!

I can’t say 100% to be honest, but from what I have read, separation of 12v/240v is to do with “what if the 240v got into the 12v wiring” or “sensitive 12v kit being affected by the magnetic field of the 240v”.

In my view, there is an incredibly slim chance of both cables having their protective sheathing broken at the same point, to allow any transfer of power. Where the cables are together (from under the bonnet to under the driver seat) They are both routed through rubber grommets at any point they pass through metalwork and elsewhere in protected areas where they won’t be subject to any rubbing.

With regards to sensitive equipment, there won’t be any on the 12v, it is purely running lights, a 12v socket and USB. The inverter I have runs completely separately, but for no other reason than it sits under the passenger seat.

Yep all of that kind of thing. I'm sure there is a thread somewhere - probably under the VCDS section or on the Ross site itself.

Bought mine from Gendan.
