What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I do miss opening the bonnet and seeing a proper rocker cover or two. v6/8 owners will appreciate the two statement.
@Texxaco, I know what you mean re a nice V8. Back in the day, I used to own a 427cu in 1968 corvette convertible.
It was absolutely mad to drive, anything other than a dry road, if you put your foot down, it could go any which way it wanted!!

Washed Floyd, removed all the rust particles, Floyd was temporarily pink with rust signs, dried with my heated blower dryer, cut the paint with my DA then coated with Turtle Hybrid Solution Ceramic wax. Within minutes of finishing the heavens opened and the line on the turtle spray bottle “Insane beading” proved to be very true.

It’s better than my ceramic coated Q5. o_O
I was thinking about tying one of the ceramic type waxes, compared to the usual wax I use. Was this just the spray bottle they do with the green on it? I take it from this that you’d recommend it?

Got this stuff after watching countless YouTube videos on all the different makes. I did try the Ceramic hybrid but it didn’t really hold its beading after a couple of washes.

I decided to go with Turtle hybrid Ceramic wax, you have to do some prep work prior to applying it, wash, dry then apply panel by panel with such a small amount as it’s goes miles. I even did the glass.

There is no sound like the growl of a V engine. Although I also loved my E30 325i AC Schnitzer straight 6.

Well, yesterday...

Stripped down black leatherette captain driver’s seat and transferred onto passenger seat sub-frame and base.

Using an old T5 frame allowed the seat belt buckle to be secured to the correct strong point rather than drilling the original. Rest of seat fittings transferred straight across. Even managed to switch out bar seat adjuster to the T6 handle. Turned out to be an economical alternative to buying the same passenger seat outright.

I'm mostly enjoying the sunshine today and like half the forum making the most of it to do my soundproofing. View attachment 109323
Looks like its only applied by hand, not with a roller? The local audio shop did a test where they hand applied the deadening and later rolled it tight against the panel, there was a 3dB difference with the sound levels just by rolling in flat against the panel.

100 percent rollered out I can assure you actually on my second roller now as my old one gave up the ghost quickly.
