What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Work in progress..... As part of my master plan to take on National Grid...removed some Mc4 connectors and replaced with Anderson SP50 with a 10Mtr cable protector ( should stand out on grass ) to run from trailer mounted Solar panels to van....90% completed... first trip .. Bala21....to test in anger...borrowed a hydraulic crimp that saved a lot of effort

Soundproof, insulation and carpet.. never again! Lol.. it's taken days.
Sounds great, but you can't 'see' all that hard work
Just the ceiling left now! Something with LEDs in it... any recommendations?

You're a man after my own heart. I sometimes feel a little bit of shame when I read about the car washing regimes of some others here on T6F (but not for long!).
I live in the country and if I do wash it in the winter its filthy within a week due to the farm traffic.
I believe it's better to leave it dirty so I'm not causing swirl marks by washing it every week in the winter trying to get the mud off.
I do use the 2 bucket method and it did take me a couple of hours to wash and dry but I find it quite therapeutic so do mind when the weather is fine.

Connected up the solar panel. Despite it not really being sunny I have to say I’m pretty impressed with performance so far.
covered the panel up with a double layer of cardboard whilst i was making connections and it still showed 5V . No idea how it does that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Anyway, connected it up, took the cardboard off and straightaway the Renogy showed it was charging the Leisure battery. Conditions were random sunny spells but even the sunny spells were not super bright. After about 10 mins the Renogy switched to trickle charge the starter battery. 15 mins or so later back to leisure battery in float charge. A little while later back to trickle on the starter.
I had been out in the van earlier today for a couple of hours so both batteries were charged prior to starting but nevertheless it shows the solar will keep them both topped up.

A couple of pictures, first one was me checking the Bluetooth monitor on the Renogy tells the truth, looks like it does. 4amps output with no real sun too... Second shows the trace from the battery monitors. The peaks prior to 13:00 are the trips I made in the van. Solar was connected about 15:30 and you can see it immediately went to work on both batteries. About 17:00 is when the van went into full shade. So far so good.

Moved the CarPlay USB from the left hand side to the right so I don’t have wires across the dash messing with my OCD. Left hand side is now a fast charge USB, plus one in the comfort dash.

This is on my list. I have a factory fit comfort dash and for some crazy reason the CarPlay USB is in the glovebox when there is a perfectly good spot for it right above the 12v socket in the centre.

On my list to redo my electrics as well as the current set up is not great. Seems like we started at opposite ends but will end up doing the same job. Did you go for the 20A or 50A Renogy? Cant quite tell from the pics.

Set up my Mini router and Amazon Fire Stick. All set up for Amazon Prime and other live programmes!
