What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Where did you get the box ? Or did you make it yourself?
Made it myself. JL supply the net volumes and the driver displacement etc so you can calculate it. Interestingly, it was quite a bit smaller the the enclosure for the previous JL sub. I’m going to post the W0 and box in the for sale section later, it was for sale before but a buddy wanted to buy it, and then didn’t so it’s going to go back up for sale.

@Texxaco you like the new ones better because? are they longer, different end profile or that they are gloss not matt/satin

Hey @huxwar they go all the way from the front mud guard all the way to the end of the rear panel. They are fatter than the ones I had on @60mm, these are 76mm. The finish is also top notch. I also prefer the slash each end to the curved under the van option that my old ones had.

Fitted power latching kit to the nearside slider of my Camper, as supplied by @Pauly . He certainly knows his stuff and offered some great advice in advance of the install to my converted van.

In addition to the significant noise reduction when closing the door, it no longer feels as though I am going to rip the handle off when closing, due to the additional weight of a Loc-8 table - my other favourite door mod.

I chose to cut-out the inspection panel (which conversion company had carpeted over) to allow easy future access if needed - but a simple enough thing to finish off nicely once the can of trimfix arrives in the post.

Very pleased with the result - I should have done this ages ago!!!

Well done! I miss the power latching on my Cali

@Pauly - Yes! Well pleased... and appreciate the advice - install would have been about 15 minutes quicker if I had been able to count higher than 8 on my own...

Still, I made up for the lost drinking time when I got to my local pub! So the day is definitely a success!

@JOG - might be worth giving Pauly a shout; I am guessing that others must have retrofitted to Cali's - and know the tricks to install more easily?

For part of my install today I used some plastic-coated garden wire and a few bits of electrical tape to pull-through cables under my flooring to the passenger seat... I was in a rush to get to the pub (hence my comment to Pauly about me only counting to 8; I missed a couple of pins when looking at one of the connector blocks). Using garden wire to pull cable was much easier and quicker than actually bothering to take things apart!
