What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Looking on Amazon for this unit, it’s 2 or 3 time’s the price of many of the other options (it’s advertised at £26.21). Was there a reason you chose this one over the others? I think there may be a few of us who pick one up if we’re going to soundproof the scuttle panel. Thanks
@davecdjt I got his one...........works a treat. Not as robust as the one Texcco has . It helps if you take the tension off the wiper arm on the screen.

Carpeted my roof panel last night!

Test fitted, checked, checked again, marked the correct side to carpet, checked again, laid out carpet, glued, glued ply, put ply on carpet, trimmed edges and glued, cut out light holes, lovely finish, stood back and admired my amazing work, decided to fit, lifted into van, F£$K SAKE! CARPETED THE WRONG SIDE! VERY ANGRY, SPEND 30 MINS REMOVING CARPET1 ORDER MORE CARPET, GO IN HOUSE AND HAVE A BEER/SULK!

I have just cleared the back of the van out to make ready for a purchase I made back in March, which is being fitted tomorrow….. I am quite excited!

I looked around at others and read reviews on how they snapped when using them. This unit was reviewed outside of Amazon and got great reviews plus it’s adjustable hence good for future tasks which in my book is a win, win.

Expensive but you get what you pay for these days, buy cheap, buy twice.
Thank you :)

Thank you. I may only ever use this once... don't ordinarily buy cheap tools but this might be enough with a little help from some WD40.

A couple of simple little mods this evening. ‘Sounds like a golf’ front door seals and dash trim to seal the gap between the dash and the windscreen (stops parking tickets and the like slipping into the void, never to be seen again). Both a doddle to fit and impressed as always with THQ service - that’s three separate orders now with free next day delivery.

Took her for a spin afterwards, definitely less road noise and the doors now shut with a satisfying ‘thunk’

I've fitted the door seals as well this week (I did the dash trim a couple of weeks ago). It certainly takes a bit of a harder to slam for the door to close fully now but I to believe there has be a noticeable reduction in road noise. I was worried the door now doesn't sit quite flush but THQ and others have advised the seals will 'wear in' in a couple of weeks.

Feel better, I've done exactly the same thing before

Bit of sound deadening over the weekend, scuttle, wheel arches and outer door skins.
F*** me.........that's some serious sound deadening work, awesome. I need to do that to mine, never thought of doing the scuttle, good idea, if I may ask a silly question though.....does that not trap any water that get's in there though ? Still somewhere for it to run-off Dave ?

Sound deadening marathon! Only achievable whilst the kids were at their Grandma’s for the weekend. Doesn’t trap water, drainage is clear (now all the shite and leaves have gone).

More importantly… does it make a difference?
