What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

It's great isn't it. I have the same and followed the suggested guide on how to fit it. Although I think I'm going to add some Invisi tape along the edge of the van to avoid any surface a scratches. Probably not noticeable on a white van but can see some tiny ones on my starlight blue.
Exactly what I was thinking.

I just installed this awesome awning rail - it uses the stock roof bolts and it’s so inconspicuous. Very happy.

It’s from here:

I’ll be using it with the new “Awning One” from Stiches and Steel:

Did Stiches not have the rails in stock?? Looked the other day and look the same for £25ea.

If you find any at a decent price let me know. I can only find stuff on ebay for bikes. 3M stuff, but for 3 metres of 50mm is nearly £40
Exactly what happened to mine, a few weekends in the wind and it's a mess. I've stuck pads on the driveaway kit rails now to hopefully this will stop it getting any worse. The annoying thing is I knew it was going to bloody happen!!

Ah man, that's a bugger. I'm the same and was expecting it. I need to sort it before I use the awning again. Also a few I've polished out where it touches the side of the van but reluctant to put tape on the side too as will be visible.

From what I understand, this Stitches and Steel rail is 3-piece (for easier postage perhaps?). Whereas I preferred a 1-piece version.

I’d also put some on the roof edge of the van in line with the end of the awning rail. You’re quite close to the paintwork and the kador strip is like sandpaper. I’m usually really careful but took the canopy down in the rain on our last trip and just grabbed the canopy and pulled it out from the front. Nice groove in the paint-lesson learned.

I did mine with some PPF tape off Amazon. 3m x 50mm was £10.49. I fitted it in April and removed it in October. It was not visible from a few meters away and I was pleased with it. I have another roll waiting for this year. Unfortunately I cannot add a link as it is no longer available from the same seller but I’m sure other sellers have a similar product.

Great. Cheers. I'll have a look. Much better value. Doesn't need to be as thick as the 3M stuff like I have on my bike.

To reduce shipping cost I would think. Not the ideal solution to undercut the competition. One piece must be easier to feed an awning on.
