What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

My Leighton LV-1 alloys are currently off the van and a couple of them have got some of the nasty wheel worm on the polished face, even though there’s laquer over the alloy.
So I decided to have a go at removing the laquer and wheel worm with varying grades of wet and dry and then a machine polish with cutting compound. Just a try out on one wheel.
I need to get a small polishing attachment for the dremel to get a final shine (used a buffing pad on the drill so far) but it’s come out well.
Going to have a trip to cleanyourcar.co.uk tomorrow and get some good wheel sealant then crack on and do them one at a time.84D41B61-322F-49B8-AA98-C6E173AE9FC6.jpegF5B8E693-8E9D-4FC5-B514-32C5A97FD716.jpeg

Well not today, but yesterday ! Visit to Chris at Van Cave. Now have koni active short shocks, 60mm drop, gloss grilles fitted THQ led headlights and sequential side indicators. Oh and not to forget Van Cave sticker.
Chris is very particular about his work, which means so much to fussy ocd types like me 0DD21EF9-83D3-40A6-8CCF-5F13BD99C9C7.jpeg

Beautiful looking van and I too concur with Chris's attention to detail and knowledge of vans...

What colour is the trim on your wing mirror? It looks like copper/burnt orange in this light which probably means it's not! Do you have a photo from the day time?
All the detail bits are VW cherry red. I think that’s what it’s called.

Looks great. What’s the ride like with the Koni Actives?
It feels more planted, and things like Cats eyes etc. just make a dull slight thud as opposed to a crashing noise before. Turn in is much more positive and being 60mm lower my mpg has improved 2-3. Definately a more pleasurable drive.

Sounds good. My next expense upgrade I think. The ride with 40mm drop H&R springs and standard shocks is awful. Catseyes are like hitting a brick!!

After researching rear speaker locations on a Kombi I settled on the roof and finished installing them this morning (didn't get a clear run at it yesterday). Went for 3Way Pioneers running off the Discovery Media, decent sound fill in the rear, speaker is nice and shallow so there are no clearance issues against the roof.

Then took it for a spin out to Hunstanton and didn't once have the kids shout "turn it up, we can't here it in the back"
