What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

A good mornings work - the van passed it’s MOT (I just need to get the broken wing mirror replaced asap) and regas the aircon. The air con didn’t seem to be as effective as I thought it should be, it had 463 grams of the capacity 600 grams left (It’s a 2016 plate). Let’s hope for a hot summer so I get the benefit of it. £138.60 in all. Happy with that.

Hopefully upcycled my Sargent EC155 to allow my VictronConnect Charger to charge my LB and VB by opening it up, removing the lead acid 13.8v internal charger and re-wiring it to accept the VictronConnect DC output onto the PCB. Will assemble it in the Van tomorrow. No tapping into the external wiring loom.

And another LED strip light gets an ON/OFF switch to avoid needless expenditure of energy - this time the wardrobe. Why have a light on when the door is shut???

I took off the OEM steel wheels off my Shuttle and replaced them with my Devonports. I bought a 3 tonne bottle jack as I don't trust the OEM jack anymore. I got the passenger side changed but then on the driver's front wheel the anti theft locking wheel nut adapter twisted off the wheel nut! I could no longer get the wheel off. Fortunately my neighbour owns the local garage, and so after turning up and asking nicely he had the drivers side lock nuts off in under a minute! Stevie suggested I thrown the locking nuts in the bin! (especially as Devonports are so cheap now!)

Now my gaze turns back to the steel wheels, which are showing signs of rust. I'm thinking of having them resprayed at a local wheel specialist.
