What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Do you have a T6 or 6.1 and does this retrofit give you the speed limiter function?
I had ACC on my previous Tiguan and didn't like it but if it gave me the speed limiter function I would more than likely have it fitted.
We've got speed limiters on our trucks at work and they're great, just set the speed and keep the pedal to the floor.
T6, and no - no speed limiter option.

Added a supplementary fuse box (3 on left fed from ignition life and 3on the right from perm live) and a BM6 and plugged in the stop start bypass.

Note: the bolts you see holding fuse box to the plastic cover right above the main big fuses are plastic as is the the one holding the BMS to the plastic shroud. They are M6 the sort you use for number plates back in the day as they were in my box of bits and of course wasnt going to use metal anywhere near these areas.

Where did you get the net and hooks please
Hi Westy78.
I am in Australia so not sure if you have Supercheap Auto store over there.
The product is called "Cabin Crew Boot Organizer" ( google it ) The net is 50x100cm and comes with hooks attached. Price about $26 au.
I did replace the elastic cord with sturdier elastic cord....very easy to do and works well.
Cheers.

VW Retrofit in Redditch

what was your experience like dealing with this company? Been looking at getting this done, but seen on the forums £3600 hazyz days with a ABS pump replacements vs £520 VW-retrofits just coding, been a bit confused as I didn’t want the existing system being hacked then causing me trouble later on.

All good, the only quirk I can see is that I can't set the default distance, other than that it seems to work perfectly fine.

Brakes fully down to a stop then prompts you to press the brake, have only been able to get it to resume from a stop automatically but it just means you hit resume when the car in front has moved.

Sounds good, Sort of the same when I had my Passat in 2015 with regards the coming to a halt then having to press to ok button to resume.

Yeah it's the same as factory as far as I know.

My old Skoda superb had an electronic parking brake so would do the full brake to a stop with zero intervention and then pull away again on it's own when the car in front started moving, with just a flick of the stalk or a dab of the throttle needed. No braking or anything required. Utterly brilliant in stop start motorway traffic jams. It's a shame neither the t6 or 6.1 have this, but it's still a massive upgrade over standard CC and not something I'd be without!

As I've said elsewhere my from factory ACC in my T6.1 MY21 Caravelle does brake to a stop and will auto resume so long as you manually brake when asked.

ACC will hold and display "ACC Ready to Start" for a short while and is fine for the rolling stop start type traffic where you only hold a few seconds.

After that ACC will display a brake symbol. If you brake then (and not before) it will restart - if you don't brake then the brakes release (which is a bit odd)

It becomes very second nature once you get the timing. Restart with Start Stop is straightforward, the engine restarts as the radar sees the traffic move, release the brake and ACC takes over. If you look very carefully the ACC symbol is always lit (at least on my digital dash)

I don’t have digital dash however I have exactly the same behaviour and intended to write a reply but you best me to it. Thanks

Chameleon tint

Seeing more and more vehicles with this now, not seen it on side windows before though.
To be honest I'm surprised that it's legal as it seems to be a godsend to those that like to use their mobile phones while driving.
