What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Washed and wax polished the van in readiness for heading off travelling next week.View attachment 254100Took a photo as the opportunity to enjoy my handiwork is usually limited to the short time before some seagull drops its guts all over the van.
This morning’s first job was to wash of a layer of bird excrement ,from the nearside, so prodigious it was incredible. I had to admit, all be it grudgingly, that having gorged itself on what was clearly a chicken tikka, it was amazing it managed to get off the ground at all.

Maybe it didn’t.
Maybe it walked all the way to my driveway before getting a pal to give it a leg up on to the van roof.
Bastids.
How do you know it was Chicken Tikka and not a Beef Rogan Josh ;) ?

That's interesting. Let us know how much difference it makes
It’ll be minimal on the front I think, will be doing the floor in the cab which should have the desired impact, just don’t have the time before I go away. I think the rears will be where the benefit of lining the inner arch will show - far more area to work with. Just did the front because I can’t help myself.

Apologies no pics, but it did happen honest! Cleaned the van and then changed the rear break discs and pads. All went really well seeing as I’ve never done this particular job before, 4 hours all in and a good couple of hundred quid saved over what the dealer wanted to charge me! My back and knees are killing mind.

So after a shoulder operation and unable to do much, rang my brother to come over and undo the required bolts etc. Fitted new rear disks and pads, then painted the front calipers. Also replaced a rear speed sensor to cure the ABS and tyre pressure warning lights popping up on the dash. Big thanks to Chris at Dav-Tec for diagnosing which one it was and programming the ECU for both H7 lights to come on when high beam is required.

Ha ha, I was stood looking at my newly fitted discs and cleaned up calipers earlier and thought about painting them at some point, I was thinking blue as well. Looks really good, definitely gonna give it a go!

Searched for it on the internet - it would have gone from WBAV to the BCA auctions but not sure whether it would have gone through a sale yet.

Interested to know who buys it and whether new owner will end up on here.

Got my road tax refund in the post today and just waiting for insurance refund from Brentacre.

I am insistent that I will not be modifying my new daily, so will be nice to use a mainstream insurer again after several years of being forced to use antiquated specialist insurance

After fitting the inlet under the bonnet last week, I finally got a chance to wire up the consumer unit under the passenger seat. I fitted a ply board and carpeted to secure the unit, then I cut a new piece of ply for the bottom of the seat, carpeted that and then fitted the double socket, its not perfect but happy with the result.

Put some mirrored/tinted film tailgate window.
Ripped it off again after looking at it from outside.

Seems that physics doesn't allow for putting a thin easily crinkled film of plastic on slightly curved surfaces without creases using one pair of hands and a nose to keep it from going everywhere.
The side windows went well though.
Just note that the OS and NS windows are different sizes so my first template wasn't as successful as I had hoped. 50% success is better than 0%.

I’ve seen on vids where they lay the film on the outside of the window and heat it so it conforms to the curve of the window then fit it onto the inside ‘pre-formed’ so to speak.
Have a look on YouTube.

Stripped a door, and almost finished applying the DEADN/insulation system from @Dav-Tec. Replaced speaker ring ready for aftermarket speaker and replaced inner skin only to realise I hadn’t reconnected the lock loom. Hopefully get the other door done tomorrow and the tweeters. Will be nice to kinda finish a job I started a year ago.
