What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I managed to find some time to build a cover for the front of the seats as it bugs me that it’s open both visually and for items to roll under the seats.

When I fitted the back covers I installed some cabling so I could fit some additional lighting as the footwell lights are so poor as standard and I want to be able to control them from the rear switch button for when sleeping in the van.

I used a cardboard template to start with and ensured there was enough gap at the bottom to allow the front mat to be removed a if needs be.

I wanted to nut and bolt them on as I didn’t want to see any screws, but with the sub under the drivers seat there simply wasn’t access to reach to back of the hole. I ended up using a trick that I did with the van shades where a ‘V’ is cut out to cover the screw once fitted. It came out better than expected if I’m honest and really happy with the results:

Looks good kev see you’ve got the tools for the storage boxes -;)

Not super exciting but I stopped the creaking door hinge by taking the cap off the roller and blasting it with dry PTFE spray - roller now free again and quite - got me out the house for an hour (10 minute job, found a bottle of single malt left over from Christmas in the garage so spent the rest of the time cleaning my golf clubs - wife thinks I’m a mechanical genius).

You clean your clubs with single malt? Now that is decadent!

Fitted an external 12v socket to power the coolbox when required instead of trailing leads through the van door. It claims to be waterproof but just in case it’s wired through a switch and separate fuse to the leisure battery. Van could do with
a clean now!

Tell us more @Iany1954 , I could use one of those for powering some pretty lights around the awning or even the flagpole! Have you got a link?!
