Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

I'm not a big tyre guru to tell you the truth. They were as they are when I bought them from another forum member. Not had any issues with them whatsoever and seem quiet and pretty well planted. I'm no expert though, sorry

We decided to have a day at Chatsworth yesterday, followed by a night on the Chatsworth CAMC site and booked a table in a pub in Baslow. It was bloody freezing, -4 overnight. What a disaster that was. The Erbaspacher decided it was going to throw a fault and not heat up at all. All we had was our normal duvets as we expected to have heat. Internal temp of the van was 2 degrees. Luckily, we live only an hour away, luckily I’d only had 2 drinks, so at 2330 we packed up and came home! We were so cold in the van, we would never have slept.

No, but 5 bags of frozen ones! (Top tip - don’t tell anyone you’re going to Ikea!)
Don’t tell because:
  • You’ll end up with a “oh, you have a van, while you’re there could you pick-up ….”
  • You can’t play the “it’s my own recipe” card when you’re finally allowed have mates round again!

We have headed away for a week down the south east coast from Adelaide as its our summer holiday period and many have gone back to work after the 10th January so we can get into free camps and caravan parks fairly easily now.

Sitting here in the van this morning with an electrical storm crashing and booming all around us, very exciting.

Crossed Lake Alexandrena twice by 24 hour car ferry as this cuts out some highway driving and is more interesting. There was a free campsite on the far side of crossing so spent the first night there, it was uncrowded which was good.

Met a couple at a winery who are off on a full lap of Australia in their vw T6 4 motion , should be an epic trip, our borders are now open except for Western Australia but we now have record numbers of covid everywhere so hopefully majority vaccinations and usual precautions can make a difference.
We are heading to where we feel like on the day as we have very loose plans which can be a good way to travel sometimes as somewhere to park for the night is fairly easy at the moment and the weather is usually hot.
