Today closer to home the Battle of Britain museum - it’s a short trip from the tunnel and a minor detour from Dover so we’ll worth a trip if heading to France. .

Oh the joy of Italian roads. We headed off to the Chianti Sculpture Park today. The directions from Google took us along 4 KM of gravel track. It wasn't a daft shortcut, this is an actual road and is numbered, has road signs and junctions etc. TBF though, it was better than most of their tarmac roads. First time ever, after seeing a deer caution sign, one leapt across the road in front of the van.

It was raining for most of the day, we stopped for some lunch and the heavens really opened. This parking area was then a pile of mud, the sort that sticks to your feet like glue. The carpets are a bit of a mess.

You can get the ferry from Lochaline to Fishnish on Mull without booking. It’s just first come first served queue up job.

Be warned though, the Corran Ferry is off due to a breakdown, so if you go Lochaline - Fishnish, you'll be driving via Ft William and back down the west side of Loch Linnie.
If you like a scenic drive, you can just drive south from Lochalort, through Acharcle to the Kilchoan to Tobermory ferry.
The wooden hut at Lochaline does very lovely Bambi Burgers! Yum!!!
