Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Wow - £44 per night? That's Henley-on-Thames pricing right there, and matched by the £20pp brekky!
Also cheaper than my summer school holiday booking in Dawlish - £325 for 5 nights - problem is my likes a pool - and a beach.

May look at France next year as looks better value.

After spending the night in a nice new service area car park ( My daughter said it would be a dream parked for the night next to a Maccies!) we made the short drive to Kristiansand to catch the 9am ferry to Hirtshals Denmark..half full/empty!
All the quality vans in last..apart from one ringer, four letters beginning with F!

Took a risk and headed over the border to Yorkshire to stay at Draughton Heights Campsite on top of the moors between between Skipton and Addingham. Highly recommended site if you like peace and quiet, with stunning scenery and more wildlife than you can shake a stick at! It's only been open three weeks so is currently a bit of a hidden gem but don't expect that to last very long.

I've been riding through this area for years, it's nice to see it been looked after.

Bav, I thought a bit steep - but factor in it would cost the 2 of us £15 to go to a pool each day it does not feel so bad.
Actually, Paul, on the subject of steep prices, I have an embarrassing admission to make...

I've just rearranged a 2-night trip to a small, coastal campsite in Rhiw, Wales. Originally booked for last June, the trip got postponed twice - once due to an amber thunderstorm warning and a second time due to having a problem with my van fridge. I've just reviewed my original booking confirmation and realised that I paid £40 per night to stay at a site that offers very basic and meagre facilities, no EHU, no hard-standings, and certainly no swimming pool - in fact, its only redeeming quality is its proximity to, and fabulous views of, Hell's Mouth.

And I had the temerity to imply that you were paying over the odds!

Another redeeming feature seems to be flexible bookings!

Well after an absolutely stunning drive along the route Napoleon which was just breathtaking and I recommended everyone gets there van over to France and drive this route to Gorge du Verdon. Without the doubt the best drive I have ever done.

The plan was to try and get to chamonix but gave up and just googled the nearest campsite just the other side of Grenoblee. Literally us and one other camper on the whole site. Looks like they've had lots of rain in this region has all the roads and pitches are water logged. Only a one nighter and will be moving on first thing but this is the first significant rain we've seen in the last 14 days.
