Burnbake campsite in Dorset on the Isle of Purbeck, the first 2 nights in the van!

Guessing the roads are much better too, my van has hit so many bumps, second outing in it and double bullet holes on the screen . Especially annoyed after facing a big road tax change - may ask the government for a refund

It's nice, choice of a big open field or a more wooden area to pitch up on, on site cafe.
Busy at the minute but I'd sort of forgotten it was still half term...
21 quid for a van and 1 adult, no hookup - so not the cheapest but it's one of the few sites within a reasonable distance of the Poole ferry, 20 mins by bike.
As our French road trip continues had a change of plan due to poor weather forecast over the weekend. Headed back north to our first stopover at Lac D'Orient. Got a nice hardstanding pitch and setup camp ready for any storms. Will bunker down here until next week.

Back from the North East.
Set off on Wednesday and had a day at Beamish in the sunshine. Lashed it down at teatime. Camped up at a basic site near Seaham, basically a wet field with toilet block and one shower!
Next day went to Durham City for a wander. Used the park and ride which was handy. Weather was cold and windy.
Stayed dry today so had a wander round Seaham. Not much to see but crashing waves were impressive.
Steady drive back down the A1 and back home for tea.
Good run out for the van.

Esterel campsite Saint-Raphael, Between St Tropez and Cannes
Stop there the weather is shit further north. We moved to soon and should have stopped at port grimaud.
Turn around and head south! Here till Thursday then head head back to the uk (sadly, had a great first trip in the van) in the meantime the wether looks good apart from tomorrow.
