Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

@Buggirl, a lucky escape and glad you are ok. There are plenty out there we need to keep an eye on and check again and again.
Good driving has kept your van and you safe. Stuff like this makes me want to get a dash cam asap.

So, I was on the M6 yesterday and switched to middle lane to overtake a Lorry and I looked to the side of me to see a Jag level pegging in the outside lane, then noticed that without signalling, he is coming over! I am not round the Lorry yet so couldn't go anywhere! Had to slam the breaks on and swerve at same time without going into the lorrys lane! Traction control kicked in and van snaked from side to side as I tried to stay in lane and avert collision! I don't know how I did it! Think the van helped me though! When I had regained full control I blasted my horn and flashed my lights and no response from the jag! He then did it to someone in the outside lane and they nearly hit the crash barrier! I couldn't beleive my eyes! He got off at my junction and I got out and told him what he had done and he just nodded! I didn't swear or anything, just merely pointed out that he needed to look first before switching lanes and that he could have killed people! He just drove off and did it again on dual carriage way! Watch out folks, they are out there!

Probably accident for cash, I'd have reported via emergency phone box if he'd pulled back on after your words of "advice", but I would also have considered tailing him whilst on phone as well.. As constitutes dangerous driving. But well done

@Buggirl glad that you are safe and sound after that horrific incident and what an idiot in the Jag. I'm with @T6 Dave on this, he needed reporting to the Police because to your certain knowledge he did the same thing at least three times in the space of minutes. Dashcam wouldn't have helped probably when it happened to you as he was alongside but it would have helped for the subsequent incidents and backed up your account of why you were fishtailing all over your lane as he passed you.

That aside, congratulations on becoming the eleventh "Legend" on the Forum :D:thumbsup::thumbsup::whistle:

Sounds awful @Buggirl ; did you get a reg number? Needs reporting by the sound of it.

Ours was an archery support vehicle for a rather long day of tournament shooting yesterday . Very handy having the table and chairs plus tea making facilities.

Pulling 144 arrows (80,60 andwith 55lbs pull (5.2 tonnes) certainly tested my endurance. Did okay for a first comp but plenty of room for improvement. My son did well and got a medal!

We had a night away on Friday and I made sure that there was a pub within a short walk of the campsite.
Unfortunately, they were refurbishing their kitchen  :( so we had to drive to the next pub instead....

The best laid plans of mice and men don't survive an encounter with Sod's Law @Chopman :whistle::rofl:. Hope that you had a good meal despite having to drive further afield :thumbsup:

I've had that sort of thing happen SO many times, I always make an alternative plan. Arriving somewhere already hungry then being told there is some reason they aren't doing food or are full (or whatever) turns me into a rather unpleasant person.

Some people have big reserve tanks with food - I don't. When I'm hungry I MUST EAT IMMEDIATELY. I have the fuel economy of an 80 Muscle car but without the nice noises.

I actually found out before we left home as I called the pub to see if I needed to reserve a table.
It isn't the first time it's happened to us though. Quite surprised pubs refurb their kitchens during June/July ...

I had a dash cam and it just stopped working, so wasn't working when this happened going to try it again today to see if it will work, if not I am getting another one as they are priceless !

@simon and @Buggirl I would commend to you both the Thinkware F770 for permanent installation option and with the rear camera as well - see the the Electrics, Lighting, ICE forum for the Dashcam Any Thoughts thread for more information. Gets the huggers when they come at you from behind and as they are in front with simultaneous recording time/date stamped with GPS info etc. As installed by many members and, by the way, I have no connection with this product other than personal recommendation.
