Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Tuesday made a pi’t’s stop.. yep with a T ;) then headed to Newgale West west west Wales for a night to christen the camper..
Cracking drive.. great place & would recommend a stay there.. good facilities, shower, drinking water, good location - cross the road & you’re on the beach, friendly staff too. Windy, had the van rocking a little but well up to it

We got into The Mont Blanc Tunnel early this afternoon after a nearly two hour delay which was a bargain at 'only' €54! After sitting in a near stationary van for so long in the near 30° heat, neither of us fancied a long drive to a campsite so a quick look at the ACSI book pointed us to Camping Monte Bianco on the outskirts of Aosta, about 50Km into Italy. We arrived at around 1545 which was just in time to grab the last but one pitch. The owners are a really nice young couple who both speak very good English (although my Italian could have coped) and the site is simple but very nice indeed with plenty of clean facilities and compact pitches big enough for a T6 and small awning. ACSI time hasn't kicked in yet but I still don't think there's much to moan about at only €25 per night (with showers at 50c extra). All that and we're nearly surrounded by mountain views (just about visible in the picture). It's very hot at the moment but a breeze has just kicked up and the temps should drop to about 13° tonight making for a comfortable nights kip under a Tog1 duvet.

Thats brilliant! So simple! I'm a big heavy lad, 6'5" and about 20 1/2 stone, so I was relegated to a SoT kayak with a large payload capacity as about the only small craft that could handle me.

I broke my elbow awkwardly and managed to damage some nerves and injure my shoulder into the bargain which has left me weak down that side lesving me unable to manhandle the SoT onto the roof of my XC90 so I ended up giving it to my son in law to enjoy. (You should see the other guy - seriously, I was assaulted in the street by a crackhead and I knew hed broken bones as Id done it before and knew the feeling so I smacked him in the nuts so hard me may struggle to have children - it worked though, the dibble scraped him off the road and he was charged with wounding and went to prison)

Something like this would have been ideal but it never even occurred to me that this was a thing!
