Which is best T6 for future residual value?

I used to sell my ex lease vehicles and the punters seemed to really like the fact I only ran them on a premium fuel. For my T6 I'm only using BP ultimate. If and when I sell in the next 4 years I will advertise that fact. I was always told by the service mechanics that my engines were super clean. I always managed to get the asking price at sale. Maybe worth the investment each time you fill up.

When I decided I wanted another transporter was looking at t5-1 sportlines at first 64 65 plates £29-£31 k + vat so decided to go t6 highline in the end and have the 4motion and few extras glad I did perfect family vehicle

I guess a big part of this conundrum, is how you will intend to sell your used vehicle. The problem can be with extras is the valuation process does not really allow for them, and there is alot of extra combinations with a T6; If however you sell privately and do a good job bigging up your van and really sell the benefits to the new owner of your extras, then you may recover alot more cash.
So I guess the highline spec may offer higher residual values, because it may fit more easily into a valuation models/tools.
The extras people can easily add themselves, and offer personalisation routes such as wheels, suspension, leather, windows, cab heater, ICE(especially as ICE moves on quickly every year and is soon out of date) may not add much residual value to the vehicle.
The extras that cannot be retrofitted DSG, 4 motion may offer loads of extra value, but you will use more fuel with 4mo.
Aircon, electric heated mirrors, electric windows etc are no brainers.
My personal favourites are heated captains chairs *2, with arm rests
Then there are the feel good about the van extras such as LED's, which everybody enjoys (imo;))
And of course the colour, I guess Greys and Blues will always find an easier second home, than more exotic choices, but if you have a really nice rearer colour well specked; yours maybe the only van in the country to come on the market at that time and really float somebodies boat; even better it it floats many peoples boats, and you get a bidding war.

I would be surprised if any extra can retain 100%+ of its new cost and suffer no depreciation at all; maybe 4motion gets close to that??????? Don't know what others think about this?????:confused:o_O:confused:

My personal route to maximum value it to spec it exactly to my choice, and then hang onto it for many many years, but I did speck up alot of options. :D:D

Ours was apparently briefly worth more than we paid for it due to demand and the great price for we got it for.
But it doesn't matter; we're having a whale of a time in it on the Ile de Re and that's what it was bought for.

It'll hang onto its value better than any equivalent prices car or motorhome whatever happens.

Nice write up @chriscroft

I had a fully loaded polo Gti, fully loaded Tiguan 4motion, fully loaded golf and couldn't get any extra for them even selling private. It's a buyers market.

Similar with my R32 - was meant to be in big demand, took ages to shift. Lost a lot on it too. Yet two depreciation tragedies retained far better money than expected.

Best off just choosing wisely what you have purchased and enjoy it , I know people who buy a car and try sell it 3months later and loose thousands on it.
I know what you mean polzeylad you tag converters in conversations recommending them not even a thank you so no more recommendations to certain people :D
Don't mind helping anyone out to find a product or service
