Which Jump Starter?

Looking at Amazon and eBay, I actually ordered one of these chargers. Same power but one less USB-C port. It's also bit more expensive but it folds so takes up less space and appeals to the gadgety part of my brain
UGREEN FOLDABLE 65W USB C Fast Charger Plug 3 Ports Nexode GaN PD | eBay
The charger arrived this morning and I'm impressed. Not only should it mains charge the Noco quickly but it will also charge my wifes laptop (with a USB-C to USB-C cable) as well as my now ageing but upgraded and still very good MacBook Pro Retina 13 (with a USB-C to Magsafe 2 cable).

GB70 works again !
Neighbours came home from a week's holiday, and one of their cars wouldn't even turn over. I think the battery was on the way out from previous incidents.
It started instantly with the GB70 on it.

One word of caution for us T6 owners. Our van battery failed recently (it was old), with the voltage down to about 2 Volts. The GB70 was unable to get the van to even think about turning over, so don't assume these things will get you out of every situation.

GBX75 failed on merlot telehandler today. So did GB70... Amazing how much power dumped out with one failed attempt! Must need GBX155 or something heavier for large machinery. Know they work in a 4litre Massey....

Assuming it's a 12v system and not 24v system.

Next time disconnect the battery cables, so that the Noco is directly connected to the truck.

So that that knackered battery don't drain the Noco flat.

Try that . . . . I recon it will start.

I think the Tele has flat batteries that have sucked the Noco dry.

Cheers @Dellmassive needing to lift roof trusses tomorrow so will get my booster fully charged tonight. I read a warning tonight on it saying to be careful not to overcharge... Is that possible or does it cut off of left on charge? So just to be clear. Disconnect cables to battery and connect Noco to cables to see if it will start.

No, it cuts off when fully charged.

You using USB charger?

Or 12v input?

Either way it stops charging when full.

...

When you got back to the telly.

Disconnect the POS cable from the flat battery.

Connect the Noco to the main NEG on the battery and the floating POS cable that goes to the Tele....

You will need to activate the over ride mode by pushing and holding the button on the Noco for a few seconds to enable the Noco power output.

Then try starting the telle.

Once it's running, quickly push the POS battery terminal back on the Tele battery.

Assuming the charging system is good.... The Tele should charge its own battery.

I find a combo of charging works well. I'm house I use a USB C from one of my monitors.... Does rapid charge. In van I use 12v from leisure battery. Again works well. Had to sit for 10mins outside Howdens other morning.... Does not boost on 2 bars! Use override a lot on the transit c!

I tried to use my GB40 to help start a very flat Skoda Fabia. I was surprised it couldn't get it started, first time that's ever happened.

I guess the method Dell mentions above might have been a way to get it going. In the end someone else had jump leads and it worked that way

TBF I've had a gb20 and a gb40.

That's why I recommend the gb70 upwards for a T6.

There just isn't enough stored energy in the smaller packa to overcome a flat battery.

But disconnecting the flat battery will give the smaller packs a chance of starting the engine.

I’ve never tried it but there is an override function on the GB70 that allows you to jump a battery that the Noco cannot detect due to low voltage. Extra care is needed as there is no wrong polarity lockout in this mode.

Sorry, I was wrong, I have a GB70. Did have the problem though

To be honest I surprised it didn't get it going. Don't suppose you what mWh capacity it has? Asking out of interest only

I had a gb40 fail to start something then upgraded to a 70
Remember though it’s designed to start a flat battery and can’t overcome a knackered/faulty battery that will just pull it down

It is amazing what they can and will do though if full of juice. I have had snapon printouts showing battery is goosed but Noco will still get van going.....

In that case if the dead battery was disconnected and the Noco used do you think the engine would start? My guess is it would but wouldn’t continue to run while the dead battery was put back in place. Just a hypothetical situation but good to know the limitations.

Im selling my NOCO GB70 + case

anyone?
