Which module does this error relate to? P00AF00: Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control "A" Module, Performance

Or as VCDS reports "16408 - Actuator Module for Turbocharger 1 ".
Which module is actually being referred to?
I have read though the documentation and can see 2 turbos, several actuators and 3 control valves.

It looks like the N75 valve controls the adjustable guide vanes on the high pressure turbo and the turbine bypass flap
and conversely N529 controls them also also as the vacuum lines are interconnected.

Valve N274 solely controls the wastegate.

Does anyone have any details regarding this error?

Thanks.

Have you seen this thread
@Deansie is working on all possible components causing the P00AF: N75 or the actuator or sticky vanes.

Also the test below is useful to observe how the chain of the components perform as the test commands the actuator to do full swing at full speed several times.

Hi,

I gave in and took the van to a local independent who confirmed a sticking turbo. It is now getting a new turbo, EGR cooler/valve and a DPF flush.
The sticking had become a hard fault thus not allowing the DPF to regenerate. This in turn meant the DPF error light on the dash board came on. Annual registration/inspection was coming due so I had no time to continue investigating any alternatives.

Still love to know if the EGR can be blanked off but still have a function DPF. My reading of the SSP is that the DPF regen process closes the EGR valve to raise the exhaust temperature and that is all. On the other hand my mechanic said the EGR is also used to ensure the DPF doesn't over heat.
Can anyone confirm if I can blank and map out the EGR and retain a functioning DPF.
Happy to have a PM to discuss.

Regards Robert.

That's exactly what I had done a couple of years ago. Done maybe 20k miles since. DPF regens are currently about 150 miles local driving and 225 on a long run.
