    Top tip for running cable

Any bright ideas where to route the cables into the engine bay? I was thinking to just drill and grommet that plate behind the battery. Probs with plenty of gooey stuff too

    Top tip for running cable

 Yeah, common way of doing it. You can get the rods from Screwfix etc or more flexible ones that are used on bikes with internal cable routing (a mechanics nightmare!).

Convert top dash 12v to ignition live

You can remove the socket in the dash (not easy unless you have some outward circlip pliers!) then cut the positive cable, attach a new cable and route to the fuse box below the gear lever. Drop the cable down through the dash. Then attach to one of the ignition switched fuses in the middle row...

Skyline poptop trim to allow solar panel cabling into cabin

Afternoon all, decided to add a solar setup to my ctek 250 which is located under the drivers seat. Roof bars and solar panel fitted successfully, but now I'm considering the best way to route the cables. Luckily I have barn doors meaning i have the seals for the tailgates brackets to route...

Rear latch keeps failing - options to change or rig a solution?

Hi there I have a 67 plate T6. It's a LWB and has a false bulkhead at the back to separate out a storage area from the main conversion. The storage (i.e., the boot) is accessed via the tailgate. So to illustrate this, imagine a SWB conversion, with a LWB 'additional section' separated off by a...

F770 dashcam - how to find power supply? Would like to make sure it's connected to leisure battery

Thanks chaps, I couldn't find a spade to fit the top 12V fuse socket so I'm taking the more recommended route and running a wire to the leisure fuses under the passenger seat. Waiting for piggy back to arrive as none of the free fuse sockets under passenger seat are wired to anything, so I need...

F770 dashcam - how to find power supply? Would like to make sure it's connected to leisure battery

I would say that cable route from the lower dashboard fuse box to under the passenger seat is pretty straight forward though, and would just involve going under the rubber mat, which you can pull up quite easily from the passenger footwell.

Cable route - seat base to void under window between B & C pillar

At the top left corner of where you removed that panel is a route through to inside the B pillar, from there you can feed down and then out where the seat belt is. then follow the OEM wires under the seat.

    I can't find a hole

Good evening, I want to run power from my inverter, located under the drivers seat, to a socket I've installed in a panel in the back. I'd hoped, once I got the b pillar plastic off, that there'd be an obvious route to the channel under the matting. Am I OK to make that small hole bigger that's...

    Routing Dash-Cam Cable through Tailgate

Sorry to barge in on this one. Been really useful reading about the cable routing from front to back and getting it through the rubber gaiter etc. I've purchased a camera that physically replaces the nearside number plate housing so I need to get access to the back of the number plate...

    Roamer LiFePO4 Gen4 230Ah Seatbase battery -- "How I Done It" --

Sorry I meant the victron orion-tr smart...just getting to grips with the correct terminology. But if the orion xs is the best for charging the roamer battery then I'd easy go down that route. Thanks for that

    What Have You Bought Today?

That’s fine. If you put the Ablemail by the DC-DC you won’t need much at all. 1m red,1m black should be fine. You don’t need to run a cable back to the SB, you just intercept the one that come from the SB to the DC-DC near the DC-DC.

    What Have You Bought Today?

Something like this do the trick for Single-Core PVC Auto Cable 17.5amp 2mm? How much will I need? If I were to add the SB would I just need more of the same cable to route through to the SB? What connector types do I need? Thank you all

    Leisure power upgrade

Thanks. I had the wires from the AMT going directly into the Orion originally but the black plastic cover didn’t like the extra wires being there and didn’t close right so I changed it. The earth will go to the earth busbar. It’s arriving soon. I’ve ordered that fused charger wire and will...

    Leisure power upgrade

Looking better. Personally I wired the AMT differently and just went direct to the Orion as per the instructions. Less cable and connections. You could certainly do that with the neg to save routing that to the chassis. You don’t need the fused cable for the ip65 now as the one you have fitted...

    Leisure power upgrade

Thanks. I have sorted my mistakes. The only cable going to LB positive is the thickest red one coming from my mega fuse now. I’ve taken the Orion output to the mega slot on the busbar as it’s not getting used and will order another 60a fuse for this. I’ve got all my 12v fuses for everything...
