2023 French road trip.

Brilliant! Very good to know and taking the lad there in a few weeks time. Have found an old history buff to give us a tour in an old Willy’s jeep which I’ve booked as a surprise for his birthday!
Oh that will be totally awesome. What a brilliant idea.

This guy does some great youtube shorts comparing old ww2 photos with video of today.

@4WheelsFromCanvas there are loads of museums around the Omaha beach and surrounding areas. Some are all singing and dancing modern ones and others just bits of old rusty steel the local farmers have thrown together. You'll both love it.

Brilliant thanks. Don’t suppose you went to any with your dog did you?

If not, wife might have to go and dog-sit back at the first night airbnb before we head down to the Loire. Hope we don’t get all the heat you’ve suffered.

We didn't sadly. We only did the free stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if they did let dogs in. Mrs and nipper went to one of the best zoos in France and you could take the dog with you.

If your taking the dog get yourself a little paddling pool for your pitch. Few had done this and wish we'd thought of it to cool the dog down.

Took the dog to vets this afternoon for his worming tablet. No issues and relatively easy process but another €46 gone.

We spent many years going to the USA and one if our favourite places was this.

God knows why but one in Calais so we had to pop in for a milkshake and burger.

It's been another excellent adventure even though France is now considerably more expensive than last year.

Looking at planning another break in September but just the two of us this time. Been great with our daughter but the amount of gear we've had the drag along is frustrating and makes pitching up somewhat of an long winded process. And taking out and replacing the rear single seat is giving me an hernia!

I must’ve been just a day behind you. Got to Bien Assise on Sunday lunchtime, left early this morning. It was bloody hot and no shade at my pitch but a decent campsite for a final night - lots of people there but you could hear a pin drop after about 9pm.

Now on the coast in Normandy. Much better temp here probably 5-8 degree's cooler than in the Loire. Gone posh this time with private bathroom.

Is that the Yelloh Village site at Port-en-Bessin by any chance? We are headed there in August, wife's family are in rural Normandy but we decided to revisit the coast and all of the D-Day beaches / sights this summer. We've also booked a premium pitch with private facilities. Seemed like a fine option!

Have camped in France for over 20 years as a family and always found Yelloh Village and Castels sites generally very good quality.
