2023 French road trip.

Bunkers with guns still there after all this time. Can walk around, inside and on top. No crazy health and safety here. Free parking to boot.

We spent 20 summer holidays on Omaha beach, a very special place. The Sapiniere restaurant in St Laurent used to be one of our goto eateries. If you venture further north, St Vaast & Barfleur are worth a visit. The municipal campsite in Barfleur is excellent, say hello to Ludo for us if you get there.

Rain today. First time we've had any rain during the day time so can't complain..

Now in Baie De Somme. Another yelloh village site. This one not quite as polished as the others. Seems the yelloh group are heavily investing in campsites throughout France. Lots on new building work and improvements taking place.

Sorry with lack of updates and photos. Been a crap area for signal and the WiFi was completely useless.

Last stay was at Camping Le Ridin **** Yelloh! Village in the Baie de Somme

Not somewhere we'd recommend sadly. Pool area was lovely but the pitches were small with uneven ground. Receptionist was a jobs worth. Had to pay €200 deposit for the private bathroom! Didn't pay a thing on the last yelloh site that also had private bathroom? Made them come over and check it before we left this morning to make sure the deposit was refunded. Can't say they were very impressed with our instance.

Location was pretty good for exploring the surrounding area. Found some beautiful old towns.

Just set up at our final stop in Calais for 3 nights. Was a nice steady one hour drive which was so much more relaxed than our previous 3-5 hour jaunts.
