Anyone put an RSQ3 engine & gearbox into a Transporter?

Awesome .... have you sorted the drivetrain can-bus..?
It sounds like it as youre ontop of the replacement abs unit ...

The dash went in and sorted the heater dails

That looks great .... did you get a later loom or just chomp into your old one ..? was there much to do if the later ..? connectors swap over okay .. ?
I like a challenge and say elecy work doesnt phase me .... but I think I'd be swallowing heaps of valium looking back at the pics .... lol

Sorry im so late on all my questions.... Im getting up to speed..

Hiya @rolla struggling getting audi bcm powered/ wired up. As I really need it for abs/reverse lights/ shifter/ ( as it’s not charging ) as I’ve had to use t5.1 cluster which is different canbus to audi, so charge light won’t work.

Bought some t6 electric window looms with matching motors/ switchers , but connectors. Wireing going to be stressfull too

I used a t5.1 bcm to power heater-dials up

Was the audi fully functioning before it was stripped out ..? did you see that ..? maybe a silly question but I thought I'd ask ....
Mentally I'm with you, identify the loom wires, re-position into audi bcm from vw.... but thats all being well it uses the same base language ...
I'd love to be able to help in any way, unsure what I can add though ... can you get all the audi ssp ..? wiring diagrams of the rs3 correct year etc ..? like with the t5/6's ..?

Engine runs gearbox selects and changers gears
But didn’t come with loom as was buttered , some I managed from daigrams , other things struggling with with pin data ,
1/ bcm wireing
2 / engine water pipeing as waters bubbling
3/ charging system. (4 types )

Carnt find if red marked pipe goes to matrix. , as bottom hose cold and no dsg cooler pipes are getting hot

Can you not use the t5 alternator ..? conversion pain agreed, but t5 is set up for it ..?
Have you removed your thermostat.. or had it hot enough to open.. ? maybe take it out to stop flow confusion when cold..?
No kinked or crushed pipes, the diagram looks like that may connect to matrix or components ..?

Engine sounds ok
no.4(rubber pipe) & no.43(hard metal pipe) in diag. look heater connections ... ?
agreed on matrix pipes issuise is once started
Only 1 matrix pipe is getting hot. / bottom hose cold / dsg pipes cold Usely water runs threw matrix on start up so heaters start to warm / waters bubbling in header and heaters still cold /
Bloody engine out the change water pump / I’ll check thermostat ( which is another task on its own )
Regards charging as it’s a 2006 I carnt add a std alti as it runs 2014 t5.1 cluster
Maybe possible to add a t5.1 alti. Try wire it up. But then I’d lose audi canbus to use vw which would affect rpm / speedo

On a good note. The gearbox changes gears in d mode and changes manual in manual shift mode

Main things sort heating issuise/ charging and electric windows , I found some audi charging daigrams but I assumed q3 was the nearest I could find but didn’t work

Well the T5.1 uses 2 canbus circuits, drivetrain and comfort bus, drivetrain has acc pedal, h/brake, speedo, abs, wheel sensors, throttle sensor, engine telemetry and much more I forgot about, so T5.1 alternator, cluster etc may take you closer ...
sorry i aint a tiktoker ... unfortunately it wont let me view it ... need more than 2 nuts ffs ... lol

Looks like I’m buggered then gutted got close just not close enoegh

Nah cant give up that quick ... I may be missing something, your running the t5.1 cluster, then if you can fit it on use a t5.1 alternator ...
Can-bus is 2 wires(i know you know already..) high and low ... what-ever circuit it's applied over, nominal 5v running through twisted pairs(data cables) .. even your LAN cable from your router to whatever has same twisted pairs, so no issue running can-bus wires anywhere man... chop a data cable up and make sure you use the same twisted pair, soldr your ends into your loom when you splice it, jump in the middle of a loom may be alot easier than running cables to an already congested loom/connector area.
Can-bus is actaully a 5volt circuit, but when doing the research on my Gen5 haldex wiring in, I found the actual can-bus to that runs at 2.5v .....
Can-bus modules need the wake up call when the modules request it from the components(BCM), if some components that usually have a permanent feed is not connected, or not powering up before the module expects it can-bus "hello" .. it will fault that module and store an error, maybe disabling it until next ign. cycle or possibly further .. ie battery disconnect ... just depends on what module it is and if it disables for safety issues ... .. friday ramble .. crack on you'll get there and be proud..

So I seen these chynees AVO's there about £60 and have an oscilloscope built in to a nice lcd display ..... now this is what I need, possibly you for watching can-bus cycles ....
if your can-bus line is down, nothing will talk, single wire faults mean a break/fault/fuse in high/low ... I got that on my comfort but think its int/roof light ... cant b arsed lol
but you could see if the say "high" bus line is down ..... or whole bus is down etc ...

Lol Yearh I understand what ur saying , but the audi useing 3 types off daigrams as nothing listed for my engine code ( yes I do have the t5.1 cluster )(2014 ) but if I disconnected the cam wires I’d lose speedo/ rpm signals from dash , I do have a t5.1 bcm too ( that just powers the heater dails lol)
Hernce if I could add a simple old 1.9/2.5 alti would be easy ( if I had the old clocks for battery light to work ( I assume it’s some diode that switch’s to make light go off. ( as there’s also the old bcm 2006 still wired in for the central locking / indicators/ headlights lol as u can imagine with it bin a old 2006 t5 lots of headaches lol
