Audi RS4 Seat Upgrade

Thanks for all the pics mate much appreciated. So I now get all the wires coming off the seats. The bit I have always wondered is where people wire into on the van wiring side. Does the passenger seat fuse box already have a supply there that is sufficient

I used a fuse tap from a heavy permanent live fuse into a relay which is switched on from an ignition feed so the seat can only work when ignition is on if you want it to work all the time don’t use the relay.
If I lived closer ( I am in Bognor Regis) I would give you a hand I should say I am not an auto electrician but I have learned stuff over the years by learning the hard way.

This is what I have under my passenger seat power from the relay is split into two wires one for each seat with separate fuses .IMG_2327.jpegIMG_2325.jpeg

Ok time for some updates as I struggle with seats….
I manage to fit passengers side (all wires was cut out on this one) as forward/backwards was working directly from 12v cable rest that’s different story, driver seat was in better shape in terms of wiring and I try connect red plug (brown plus red) to 12v and ground but nothing working…? And either I’m a bum or seat it’s not working at all… any ideas welcome might try do same as on passenger seat and connect directly to motor that way at last will be able to fit them for now….buy cheap buy twice ehhh

Update connected directly to motor and it’s working now I can install driver seat but still need to sort out why doses work when connecting main loop to power

Thank you ye your as far as could be to go
I will figure out soon or late for now I will instal them only and set up correctly.
If I’m unable to make it work as should I might find someone to help or do my own switches with relays to change polarity etc. just was watching some yt how that works

These seats are getting more and more complicated. You could try swapping the modules under the seats to see if that’s the issue as they do the controls of the seats. Older ones are wired directly to side switch with nice and thick wires where them now are all skinny bastards though said modules .
Also these modules are easily locked when people try to fiddle with wires. So that could be the issue with one of them possible as well. Someone before you could have tried to wire them hardcore style as you can see from the chaos caused there. You’ll know once you might be able to swap the modules around and check.
I wouldn’t advise to try to start changing polarities on them as it’s still module that switch cooperated with not direct voltage.

That are super sexy tho

Hi thank you Stan that’s good idea to try switch them over but I wonder if are both dead lol I need check module number and see how much goes for it might be enough cheap to replace and then see if will work, one seat wire looks ok but other I was trying to but back and could not find all ends to connect……. Might need replace full wire. Just did image of module and I can see 2 thick wire goes to module might try to connect to them instead.
Now question does thickness of wire make difference? I was using some left overs from that cut out seat and it’s thin, but at home I got only normal 2.5mm domestic wire at moment should that be ok to use? And what size of fuse I should use? As I got 15 one on what wire what I was checking before.
Thank you for help appreciate it.

Spare control unit £45 on eBay and it’s almost same…4M1959760G as mine its E and cheaper one it’s £95 … money pit
might just buy switches and wire them up 2 for each seat forward/backward and till, like on image

Snakelimit, your seat dont work because you have a memory electrical seat, the passenger are not memory (just 2 cable for make thi run)

But for the driver seat with memory, movement make by a unit control under the seat. Just add the + and - are not correct
you must add the Can connection (6 and 7 on the black plug) actually i dont find a solution for that, normally can are low voltage under 12v...

I see will need to check it when van back from garage unfortunately passenger seat a bit in pieces with wires and I might just connect motors to switches and use that way.

Hi guys I’ve recently replaced my front seats with a pair of fully electric Audi A4 RS sports seats. Had to modify the own seat based as the Audi seats are wider I’ve got the movement functions working which involved running a new constant power feed and an ignition feed to a relay. My original seats were heated but I can’t work out the connections for the Audi seats yet . The originals had 3 connections and the Audi seats have 4 wires if anyone has done this modification could you let me know if you got the heaters working.

Original leather captains seats listed here.

they look great. I am looking into this sort of thing. where did you find the seats, what year car etc. it seems a better deal than have mine re trimmed. what sort of money are the seats, they look good. I am near Emsworth so would love to see how you fitted etc. PM if you don't want to post certain info. cheers N

Look at ebay there plenty of seats from vw/audi you will need adapters to fit then

Hi all, I’m going to be putting in some Audi Q8 seats, (bought off ebay) - look the same as your @Snakelimit , just all leather. This thread is going to be a great resource, however what’s under my passenger seat is different, I don’t have a fuse board. Everything looks to be connected - which suggests I’ll need to splice into something (somewhere) or run new wires from the fuse board under the dash. ? I can see various posts related to this on the forum, just curious what people feel is best (I’m concious I has 4 piggy backs in my fuse box already) ?
