Audi RS4 Seat Upgrade

Do you have or plan to have leisure battery? As this might help with plan how to connect it other wise you either need to connect to main fuse box. Someone here might help more as mine got fuse under box as was ex rec van

My connection blocks don’t map with what was shared earlier - but I’m going to make an educated guess and assume the thickest two wires coming from the drivers seat are expected to be 12v+ and ground ?

Hi all,

With the weekend in mind, for me to get basic operation (forward backwards up down), is all that’s required from me is to just connect a 12v & GND feed to each of the motors underneath ? And for those to go the opposite way, I would reverse that 12v feed ?

Hi yes that what I plan to do you can buy buttons which operate that way if you scroll few pages it’s on/off/on button where it change porality.
If you want just to move them to install then yes you can just swap +and - as dc motor will go other way etc.
I’m surprised yours don’t work as most ppl just connect from main plug, don’t forget to put fuse as well just in case.

Thanks @Snakelimit,

While I’ve got the seats I’m still in the learning and planning phase, taking the seats out led to me taking the cab floor up, to then buying sound deadening material but then seeing chunks of rust on the bare floor - the latter two of which are my weekend jobs sorted before I can get to the fun part of the seats :(

Have you tested yours with just a direct 12v - if so is the speed of movement an issue - does voltage need to be adjusted in any way for speed ?

I still need to switch my sears the new fully electric ones have been sat waiting to be fitted for ages now. Once I switch them I can finally sell the other TT supersports seats in the van. Did anyone remove all the air bags before fitting?

I’ve read different opinions on this, most seem to suggest if you leave them alone they will be fine, and then other have mentioned VW Audi Airbag Lockout Adapters

I assume that’s these …

Is anyone using these (or considering it) ?

Hi @Snakelimit - have you completed your install?

Did you get it all working ?

Both of my sests seem to have the memory control unit (4M6959760E), so nothing seems to be able to work / be powered simply from the two main cables coming out of the red plug..

I got mine working just using the 2 power wires hooked up to a lighter socket for now, allowed me to move them into place and adjust the back rests. the front controls dont seem to work and I have no idea what the 2 toggle button on the upper headrest does, cant even seem to find out what that is online.

I still dint get around to do them someone mentioned before about that memory and need to connect as well but not sure, been sick all last week and got a lot to do, will try sorting out soon.

@Snakelimit - Hope you feel better soon

@T6Norfolk - What control unit do you have for your seats, is it 4M6959760E too?

As I need the seats to be ready tomorrow, I couldn’t wait to sort the controller unit out and have stripped out all the cables, thankfully it seems straight forward as all the motors (and there looks to be 5 !) have the thickest cables and are closely paired/colour wise, so I can relatively easily isolated and control each motor.

Hi guys I’ve recently replaced my front seats with a pair of fully electric Audi A4 RS sports seats. Had to modify the own seat based as the Audi seats are wider I’ve got the movement functions working which involved running a new constant power feed and an ignition feed to a relay. My original seats were heated but I can’t work out the connections for the Audi seats yet . The originals had 3 connections and the Audi seats have 4 wires if anyone has done this modification could you let me know if you got the heaters working.

Original leather captains seats listed here.
