Camper Jam

I was planning on bringing my event tent to use for the football for anyone who wants to watch the games. I'll pack it in the van and if we don't use/need it its not an issue but its there if we do.
Planning on arriving around 3pm Friday afternoon.
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!! Apparently they will also be showing the World Cup in “Brothers Bar” but might be a bit rammed in there.

They were mRking out 6x7m plots today.. so were not 100% sure of the total area allocated per club yet.. I can speak to them again wednesday..
Been looking through pervious show photos to see if there is apattern to parking and count rows etc.. but think it is based on group numbers..so varies.
I think on a whole it is marked out with guided rope that mark drive routes up and down the groups.. 'H' etc.

Did you see the Facebook video earlier? May get one that makes it all a bit clearer later in the week.

Looking forward to this weekend and so is ED but...Is there anywhere we can exercise him off the lead. This boy needs to run.

I don't know but Q&A suggests there will be somewhere:- "Can I bring my dog or other pets?
Yes, you may bring your pets, provided they are not dangerous or poisonous and can be housed with your camping unit. Pets should be kept under control at all times (eg. dogs on a lead except in the designated exercise area). Any mess made by your pet must be cleaned up by you. If it is not then you will be asked to leave and be barred from all future events."

Does anyone know if you can bring a car as well? My lad hasn’t been so good so the missus will prob bring him down the day after, although I’m unsure they will let a car in as well later on??

Reading the blurb they sent out today no vehicle pass = no entry - I think the only way would be to buy a day visitor ticket on the Saturday.

Simple answer is no.
I had this issue as my wife needed to drop my daughter off at a weekend training camp at Rutland Water, so would have been heading over on Saturday. Already got a wrist band, so it was just about parking the car. Got in touch with the organisers, the answer was every vehicle has to have a ticket so she’ll out another £20.
Waan’t going to do that since she’ll be there less than 24 hours before disappearing to go and collect said child. So put her ticket up for sale.

I don’t think they can - extract from today’s email:-
If you haven't already heard, Camper Jam Weekend Camping is sold out!
We have a strict policy on Friday of no vehicle pass = no entry. We can not sell you a vehicle pass on the day. Please do not travel to us without a vehicle pass - you will be turned away.
Day Visitor Tickets are still available for Saturday and Sunday, check out www.camperjam.com/tickets for more information.

The problem with Weston Park is that it is situated on the A5, with very little parking along it. I had a look at the Camper Jam website, and they show a Red Gate and a Blue Gate, but I don't know which of these would be used for entrance or exit or both.

There is a small lay-by on the A5 towards Red Gate (use Google Maps to find it), and there is another in Weston-Under-Lizard, which is nearer Blue Gate. There is a lay-by off Chester Road, which is a little West of Blue Gate.

An alternative is to pay for a day ticket to Weston Park itself, which includes parking.

Weston Park is not really geared up for "on foot" arrivals. It might be worth contacting the Camper Jam organisers for their advice too.

There's a big layby on the A41 just north of the A5 roundabout. Not sure how safe it would be but there is often a butty van there. Also a bigger lorry layby south of the roundabout, but about a mile down. Not a walk I'd want to do as there's no pavement or verge....
