Campsite Membership Clubs

What are peoples view on campsite membership clubs? Is their any benefit to joining one instead of the other? How do people book they sites on here, do they use Pitchup.com or somewhere else. I know the more you book, the more the saving which will pay back the membership costs over time, but curious if it's worth signing up in the first place?
Thanks

I have found Pitch Up a bit random, some good, some really bad. It depends what you want really. If you want quite from 11pm then use Caravan club sites.

Camping & Caravan club:-£30, pays for itself with ferry ticket discounts. We don’t like the club sites, but the small accredited sites are good.
ACSI card:- pays for itself over & over again & is probably the best £14 we spend.
Park4night app - free
Searchforsites app- paid

C&CC for me for long stays but normally end up using either ukcampsites or pitchup for shorter stays + google search and then anything that gets me the site positioned where I want, ideally the sites website directly

Joined Camping and Caravanning Club recently - tried to book Eurotunnel through them to get the 10% discount. Complete waste of time with a clunky system that didn’t work. Ended up booking through the normal route online. Unfortunately the small plastic membership card won’t even keep me warm for long when I burn it.

Lucky escape! I booked through them before the pandemic and have had to keep changing the booking (4 times now over the past 2 years) but as you can’t directly access the booking on the ET website I’ve had to call the C&CC European travel team after researching the crossings online and request changes, now the phone line has closed so it’s email only! They have been pretty good (even got the booking this summer cheaper than 2020) but it’s a faff

Sounds a pain. If it’s not intuitive and simple to access then the 10% discount is nothing more than bait to reel in suckers like me! Enjoy your trip when the time comes.

This contrasts with my experience. We don’t normally book our ferries until a couple of days/hours before we travel. I’ve even booked them whilst actually en-route to the terminal. If you’re booking less than 7 days before you travel, you have to book direct & not via the website. I drop them an email with the basic info, when/where/what etc. & they invariably ring me back within an hour. I’ve just returned from France, sailed on the Ferry from Dieppe on Wednesday, booked it last Sunday whilst driving up from Austria.
I actually find it easier than using the ferry companies own website.
